Harry waved to his mom through his windshield as he pulled out of the driveway. He called Zayn.
"Hello?" He answered.
"You're much nicer when you're awake." Harry joked and Zayn laughed.
"Sorry 'bout that, Harry," Zayn said.
"No worries, I'm out from my mum's. Can I," Harry paused and gripped the steering wheel. "Can I pick you up?" Harry said with an exhale.
Zayn smiled hearing nervousness in Harry's voice, he didn't know about Louis. Other than the time Harry called him Lou in his sleep.
"Yes, you can pick me up. I'll send you my address, kay?" Zayn said and Harry hummed in response.
"See you soon," Harry said.
"Bye, Harry." Zayn cooed and hung up.
Harry sighed, he was still frustrated about his feelings but he was relying on Zayn to make all his worries vanish with a flash of his smile.
Harry thought he looked pretty decent so he drove straight to Zayn's apartment. He wondered what they would talk about and if they had anything in common.
He wanted to know more about Zayn, from what he could tell he was very passionate about music. He was one of the top students in his class and Zayn never let their friendship interfere with his schoolwork which Harry was glad for.
He texted Zayn telling him he was at the bottom of his complex, it was a gated area and it looked pretty nice. He did wonder how a college student who worked as a dogsitter could afford a place so nice.
Maybe he had a roomate?
Soon enough Harry saw Zayn walk down in all his glory. He was relieved Zayn didn't dress up too nicely because he looked rough himself.
Harry observed Zayn's outfit, a dark grey sweater, black jeans, white shoes, and his long hair was simply pushed back. God, he still looked so good.
Zayn smiled and waved when he saw Harry, he brought him genuine happiness.
"Hello, Mr. Styles," Zayn said looking at Harry and he just shook his head.
"We've gotten tattoos together, our student-teacher relationship no longer exists." Harry laughed as he drove off.
"So, can I," Zayn started and looked at Harry's hand but changed the end of his sentence. "Can I pick the music?" Zayn said clearing his throat. He was bold, but he didn't want to scare Harry like last time.
But then he remembered that Harry had once held his hand and he even hugged him, he was asleep sure but still.
Zayn smiled at the thought.
"Yea, sure." Harry smiled and passed him the aux cord.
"Where are you taking me?" Zayn asked.
"Only my favorite breakfast place in all California," Harry answered happily and turned to Zayn. "And I've been everywhere so that's saying a lot."
Zayn nodded and smiled at his excitement, "Sounds promising, I'm honored." Zayn smiled.
Harry looked at Zayn and pulled a wide grin before putting his glasses on and letting the music fill the car as he drove.
When they got to the small cafe, they sat outside on the patio and waited for the server to approach them.
"Hm, seems very Harry Styles," Zayn mentioned as he sat down.
Harry frowned, "What's that mean?"
"You haven't heard that before? All the students in the class use it." Zayn said and Harry just laughed at the information.
