not sure if it's actually sweet but
actually... let's just see how this happens.
"drink your tea," marvin dipped on his own.
"it isn't sweet enough," trina pondered over the cup, leaning her elbow on the table and her chin on her fist.
"then put more sugar in it-," marvin whined.
"how are your parents," trina asked monotonously.
"what? they're fine, why," marvin rallied, stirring his tea with the small, metal spoon.
"no reason... i can't believe we're doing this," trina held her head in her hands.
"it has to be this way-," marvin started, leaning back in his chair, to be cut off again.
"i like to forget how you are. in my head i remember how you'd hold me. how you'd sing me to sleep and tell me everything is amazing, but you didn't.. did you? can you?" trina dropped two cubes of sugar into her cup harshly.
"baby- you know we can't. you know i can't," marvin stood up and turned to face the wall behind him.
"it doesn't matter! be with him, love him. just, love me too. hold me, just as you would him," trina stood up and walked to marvin. she put her hand on his shoulder and turned him around. "it's been 10 years, you can't leave now!"
"alright! guilt trip me! strip me of my pride, it won't change anything," marvin grabbed trina's wrist in an angry bliss. with quick realization, he loosened his grip and let their arms down.
"every day you leave me here with the boys and the house, you strip me of mine," trina sat back down at the breakfast table.
"sweet enough," marvin asked, crossing his arms and sitting back down in his seat across from his soon to be ex-wife.
"drink your tea before it's cold."
