Daggers pov

Joke changed the plans for today, he asked if maybe we can go to a couple of arcades and raid the claw machines, and maybe get ice cream after. I said yes of course I ain't gonna give up this opportunity to hang out with my crush- wait crush? No no no we're just friends, he's just a friend nothing else.. "Hello? Earth to Dagger!" Joke said to me "huh? Yeah I'm here." I said "ok, I asked you if you wanted to go ahead and get ice cream. " He said "oh yeah sure!" I said, I sounded like a kid that got the right happy meal toy (don't ask please). We got into Joke's car and went to an ice cream shop that recently opened, the place had a 4.5 star rating. Joke was singing to music, mainly music by Katy Perry though. "You sound like a donkey that has been smoking for 68 years." I said jokingly "oh like you can do any better, shorty." He said back "since when did I have a nickname?" I said glaring at him. "Since now." He said in response. WoW suCh a ClassIc resPonSe! I stared at the tress we were passing by, most of them being evergreens, if I had to guessed it took us about 23 minutes to get there. We got into the ice cream store, ordered, got a booth, and got our ice cream. I finished first like the fatass I am. "I'm going outside to get some fresh air. " I said and I got a "Mhm." from joke. I went outside, but the next thing I know is that I feel pain all over the back of my head. I fell to the ground in pain, that's all I could feel right now.. I turned over to my back and looked at who hit me, I couldn't make out their face because they were wearing a face mask, they were holding a metal baseball bat, I'm fucked.. They hit me again but this time in the stomach, I tried to at least kick their ankle to knock them over. Nothing happened. "Joke!" I yelled. No response. "Joke!" I cried out. No response. I gave up on trying to call for anybody, by now the person left, they didn't take anything for some reason... Weird.

Joke's pov

I could've swore someone yelled my name, must be the wind outside. I finished my ice cream and went outside to find Dagger laying in his own pool of blood. I didn't waste one second I called an ambulance and quickly held Dagger to my chest. "J-joke?" He said out of breath. "Y-yes Dagger?" I said being very fucking stressed out for him "ho-ow long will it be until the ambulance ge-ets here?" He asked me "they'll be here in about 16 minutes.." I said, I'm so stressed out for him, is he going to make it?? Oh god Joke don't think that you know he'll make it..

3rd person pov

The red and blue lights were in a loop when they arrived, they got Dagger into the ambulance, Joke got into it to. Dagger had to stay in the hospital for about a week due to having 3 broken ribs, a fractured wrist, and a broken leg.
