Crush // Charles x Reader

Down deep beneath the ground, three teens sat round a table, sheets and old news paper articles scattered across.
"Ugh this is so frustrating." Y/n growled.
"It's okay y/n," Betty reassured her.
"Why don't we ask Charles?" Jughead smirked, grasping the girls attention.
Even though y/n may not have said it out loud, she had a big crush on Betty's brother Charles.
It wasn't really a secret, everyone practically knew, along with Charles. He thought it was quite cute.

"Charles?" Betty called, heading down the stairs, the two trailing behind. Charles emerged from the dim shadows of the room.
"Betty, Jughead, y/n" Charles nodded.
Y/n smiled at him warmly.
"We need your help."
After searching data bases, the hours passed by and the night was coming to a close. Y/n stared at Charles as his fingers tapped along the keys of the computer. Jughead grinned nudging her shoulder playfully. He whispered something into the blonde's ear before speaking up. "Betty and I are going to Pops to get food, you two stay here, what do you want?"
Y/n realised what Jughead was doing along with Betty. The two headed out the door , leaving Charles and the younger girl alone.
"How about we take a break for a bit." Charles suggested shortly after.
"Okay sure." Y/n shrugged. The pair sat next to eachother on the sofa as they began conversation, it turned out they had more in common than they thought.
Laughing and telling stories, they started to grow closer. And by the time Jughead and Betty came back, y/n had rested her head on Charles' shoulder and was fast asleep. Not that he minded though.
Jughead and Betty exchanged glances, their plan had work.
"hey wake up y/n." Charles lightly shook the girls shoulder. Her eyes fluttered open, "sorry" y/n apologised for falling sleep on him.
"It's okay I didn't mind" he smiled. Her cheeks heated up. Jughead broke the silence by handing out the food.

"We had better get going." Betty announced, putting the left over rubbish in the bin.
"Thank you for your help Charles." Jughead shook his step brothers hand.
The three headed out the door before Charles stopped the young girl.
"It was good getting to know you, we make a good team." The blonde smiled.
"You too." Y/n replied before slipping back into the night. She smiled to herself, she was finally getting closer to Charles.
