Melanie found it hard to keep her mind on her work all of the next week. She was too distracted. The event kept replaying in her mind again and again. She couldn't be able to forget about it. She couldn't be able to remove the feeling of his lips and touch from her mind. She couldn't concentrate on her work anymore. She even tried to closing her eyes but all she could see was his handsome features and of their image kissing.

'Aaaah! What is wrong with me? I think I've gone crazy.' She thought.

She didn't even like Aaron. He was the sought of man she loathed. He had all the characteristics she hated in a man. He was arrogant, rude, dominant and so on. So why.......why was he having this effect on her? He evoked some emotions in her that she had never felt before, not even with Robert. No matter how many times she asked the question, she never came up with a reasonable answer. All the answers which came up, she either dismissed them from her mind or just couldn't bring herself to believe either of them.

'Why can't you get out of my mind already?' She screamed.

Moments later, her Secretary came budging through the door, all emotions written on her face. Worry and concern for her boss.

Melanie looked up from where her head was between her hands, looking at her secretary who had budged in her office throwing all caution to the wind. "What is the problem?" She asked her secretary looking at her with an emotional face.

" Mmm.......aah...amm....you screamed." Her secretary, Charlie stammered.

"Did I really scream?" She asked her secretary.

"Yeah, you did" Charlie murmured quietly.

"Did I scream that loud?" She asked herself.

"Oh.....aaah...yeah about that, there was a tiny creature in here. It was at the top of my desk." She said while frantically scratching her head. "Mm.... you know that tiny little animal, with white fur, tiny legs and a tail......you know them, don't you?"  She tried explaining to her, hating herself for feeling awkward in front of her employee. Melanie looked up at Charlie who was already looking at her in amusement.

"You mean a mouse?" Charlie asked trying to conceal her amusement towards her boss.

'Oh......so it's called a mouse. Great.....very great Melanie, your mind is too preoccupied Aaron's kiss that you have even forgotten a simple name....wow, just wow.' She thought.

"Yeah that... it was a mouse. It really scared the life out of.....you know, I thought it was some dangerous creature...a mouse didn't cross my mind at all." She explained smiling awkwardly and pointing at her in a friendly way.

"You know you could just get rid of it. I know some......." Charlie started but Melanie cut her off.

"No need to disturb you, I would think of a way to sort it out....maybe this weekend."She knew what she was implying. Why would she even get rid of something that doesn't even exist? It really was getting more awkward on her side so she decided to dismiss her before it got any more awkward.

"Okay." Charlie replied before turning around towards the door.

Charlie had just turned towards the door when Melanie called out to her making her halt midway.

"Aah Charlie, I would just like to know if I have any schedules now?" She asked politely. She was always kind and respected her employee's.

"No. You're free today. No tight schedules, just your usual work." Charlie replied.

"Okay." Melanie said then dismissed her with a flock of her hand.

When the door had finally closed behind Charlie, Melanie realised the breath she hadn't realized she was holding.

'Wow, I can't believe I just pulled that out. I have become a big liar.' She said to herself 'And of all the lies I could come up with was of a mouse, whose name I have forgotten.' She laughed at herself.

She sat there remembering what had brought up to all this. She couldn't believe that a simple kiss from a man she had barely known would affect her badly even to the point of forgetting her surrounding.

'How could I allow him to get through me with just a simple kiss.' Melanie thought. But what she couldn't deny was that the man's kissing was way better and even to the extent of forgetting herself than when she's with Robert.

Shaking her head to try and push the thoughts of the kiss back in her mind. She looked at her laptop checking on work email sin order to keep her mind off from the kiss.

Hours later, she had checked all her emails and replied to most of them. looking at her silver wrist watch, the time on her watch read, thirty minutes past twelve. Deciding to go out for lunch, she switched off her laptop aknd closed the lid. Taking her clutch from on top of the desk, she walked round her desk and made her way towards the door. She opened the door walking out and closing it behind her.

"I'll be out for a few hours, if anything, call me." Melanie said as she walked past Charlie's desk.

"Sure." Charlie replied.

Melanie walked towards the elevator and occupied it. The doors of the elevator closed and she pressed ground floor button.

Charlie stared at her boss as she made her way towards the elevator. She envied her boss's life, but she couldn't forget what had happened earlier when she heard her boss scream. 'Weird.' that was all she thought.

She could tell that her boss was really not herself today. It looked like something was weighing down on her. 'Maybe the wedding preparations was weighing down on her.' was all Charlie could think about.

Directing her sight and thoughts from her boss, she looked back at the screen in front of her and continued from where she left her work.
