Carter's POV

Why did she leave again?! Did she give up on me?! I want my family now! I'm so restless. My mother keeps calling and it's pissing me off.
I called my secretary to prepare me a flight to Canada early tomorrow morning. I told her about Paige and she is very happy. I am going with her to surprise Her.
I will still pretend not to know her. I want to protect them. Mildred told me to pretend in other to protect them.
I can't wait to hug and kiss her. I know I haven't gotten back my memory completely but I remember some of our memories together.

"Beep beep" it was my alarm. It's 6 o'clock in the morning. My flight is at 8 o'clock am. I have to find a way and lie to my mom. I hate lying to her but I have to. I know grandpa will get really mad at me for leaving whiles the project is still ongoing. I will explain everything and I hope he understands me.
"Good morning son" my mom hugged me.
"Good morning!" I responded.
"Sleep well? And where are you going with a traveling bag?" She asked.
"Business trip. Sorry I couldn't inform you earlier.
"Okay son. Please have breakfast before you leave." She requested.
"No mom, I will eat on the plane!" I said harshly.
"Carter, why are you so cold to me?" Her mood changed.
"Sorry." I kissed for forehead.
I signaled grandpa that I was leaving. I have already explained everything to him. I now understand why grandpa hardly talk to her.
Flashback
"Good evening grandpa" I greeted him when I entered his office.
"Good evening Carter" he smiled.
"Grandpa, I want to talk to you about something." I bowed my head.
"Talk to me my boy." He smiled again.
He always calls me my boy. I can tell that he adores me so much.
"Grandpa I'm traveling to Canada for something urgent. It's not for business though." I told him.
"Okay my boy. I hope it's something very important to you. Take care of yourself." He got up and hugged me.

I quickly called Mildred to inform her to meet me at the airport.
I have every necessary information needed that's where she stays. I feel so excited. I can't wait to see her surprised face.

Few hours of traveling,we finally landed. We are heading to the hotel we booked. I suddenly feel nervous now. Will she be happy to see me?
We got to the hotel and I went to freshen up. I'm surprising her tonight. Mildred will not be going with me today.
It's 8 o'clock in the evening and I'm on my way. I know it's late but I have see them to calm my heart.
I reached her mansion and it was a very beautiful mansion. I'm in love with the decorations at her house.
I greeted the guards and told them my mission. They led me into the house. I saw Carter Jnr watching cartoons with someone. He quickly came to hug me. I was so emotional. I hugged him back. I have never felt this kind of joy before, my heart was melting.
"Good evening" I greeted the lady.
"Good evening sir and please who are you? And what do you want?" She asked politely.
"My name is Carter Hubert, I'm here see to Mrs Alder." I said.
"My mom is at the hospital with Grandma." My heart skipped a beat when Carter talked. Is she alright? I was wondering.
"What happened?" I queried.
"Miss Jones had an accident sir. She will be discharged tomorrow." The nanny said.
I now understand why she suddenly left.
"Carter, can you please spend some time with me before you leave? I'm bored here." Carter Jnr pouted.
"Only if it's okay your nanny." I smiled.
He looked at the nanny for approval and she nodded.
"Please I'm not the nanny, I'm the caretaker of the house and also the maid. You can spend time. I'm letting you be with him because he requested. I can see that you are not stranger." She sounded sincere.

We played and talked for till it was his bedtime. I kissed his forehead.
