Virgil had gotten no sleep last night. It wasn't a surprise to him, the only time he ever got sleep was when he ended up passing out from exhaustion. Patton had come to his room earlier, he knocked on the door inviting Virgil to breakfast. But Virgil knew better, he knew he wasn't want there. Besides it's not like he would eat the food anyways.
Virgil was not in a good state. He barely ate, and when he did most of the time he would end up puking it back up. He was super pale from blood loss. Virgil was also very weak, he was becoming so tired yet he couldn't sleep. At night his thoughts just continued, not giving him a wink of sleep. The bags under his eyes were almost completely black. Virgil kept having attacks for no reason, they would just come out of no where. His entire body felt numb, but at the same time he could feel the stinging pain of each of his cuts.
Virgil just couldn't handle it anymore. He was slowly breaking away, holding on by only a thread. All the sides hated him, but it was hard. He wanted to do his job and so it right, but he knew if he did anything the others would get mad. But then when he didn't do anything the call him lazy and self absorbed. Somehow the others always found a way to pin the blame on him.
"Hey, Virgil buddy? Could you come to the door for a minute?" Virgil heard Patton from the other side of the door. He sighed as he stood up wondering what he was in trouble for this time. "Hey Pat, whatcha need?" Virgil had trues to sound as nice as possible, but it come out in a tired and slightly mad voice. Honestly at that point so what if Patton got made over his "attitude".
"Well Anxiety, you see we were just getting ready to play a game and were wondering if you would join us?" Patton said it in his usual bubbly tone. Virgil could see right through it though, he knew for a fact Patton hated him, just like the others.
"Uh, no thanks pat I'm sure you guys will have plenty of fu-". Virgil had gotten cut of in his response while he was slowly closing his door. Patton had grabbed onto his arm, hard. Virgil could feel some of the cuts reopening but he didn't dare make a noise. He only looked at Patton with question in his eyes.
"Now you listen here," Patton started, venom in his voice. "I'm trying to be nice and include you here. So I don't care if you act all dark and solo, but you can drop the act for one freakin hour to do something with us. I don't care if you don't like it but you can suck it up and stop being so selfish for once." Patton finished glaring at Virgil as if threatening him to argue. Virgil only gave a small node as he an attack as bay.
"Mkay, see you downstairs!" Patton said back to his usual bubbly self. Virgil took a moment to compose himself, pulling down at his sleeves even though they were already down and pushing his bangs so they covered his eyes.
" Let's get this over with, I hope I don't make more of an idiot out of myself." Virgil then walked out of his room, feeding what might await him with the other sides. Once he reached the bottom of the stairs he looked into the living room to see the other sides sitting around. By the looks of it they were annoyed, most luckily from waiting for Virgil.
Virgil slowly crept into the room. Logan has occupied an arm chair, Roman and Patton day on opposite ends of the couch. That left Virgil who quietly walked over to the love seat and sat down. He then began to curl into himself trying to be less noticeable. Of course that didn't work. In the broken life he lived he was never able manage getting even a moment of peace.
"Finally, it took you long enough anxiety" princy's regal voice broke through the momentary silence. Right as Virgil was about to apologize Logan chimed in "You can't always expect us to wait for you, you need to be more punctual." Ligan adjusted his tie as he said so, "Ya kiddo, it's actually really annoying waiting on you all the time. Anyways let's do what we came here to do and play a game."
Virgil was never given the chance to apologize, all he got was a scolding of disappointment. Didn't surprise him, it's not like they ever took the chance to listen to him.
"Is that good with you Anxiety?" Romans voice broke through Virgils ocean of thought. "Uh, s-sor-ry I did-dn't hear wh-hat we wer-re talkin-ing about-t" he had said it in the most smallest voice possible just wishing he would die right there.
There was a serious of sighs and complaints from the other sides at him. Virgil was trying to keep his thought at bay and listen to the others. But it was hard, when all he wanted to do was run up to his room and grab a blade. For the time being he just stuck with scratching and his arms.
"Okay so, since you were so rude to ignore me the first time I said it I'll ask again. We have decided to play truth or dare, is that fine by you?" Roman told him in a very agitated tone. Virgil instinctively flinched before responding "Tha-"
The anxious persona had been cut of by Logan "Don't even ask him, he didn't have a vote in this and he's not allowed to change our decision. He can de with the choice we made, isn't that right anxiety?" Logan spoke menacingly and all Virgil could do was desperately shake his head in attempt to get the attention of of himself.
"Okay I'll start. Patton, truth or dare?" Roman questioned. "Truth!" Patton answer brightly. "What's your favorite food?" Roman asked. "Oh there's so many good choices. But I would have to say either my pattoncakes or cookies!" Patton was all bright and smily as he continued the game.
"Logan, truth or dare"
"Well I suppose I'll chose dare." Logan stated. "Okay" Patton said and then he got serious "I dare you.....TO GET ME A COOKIE!" Patton yelled, he then proceeded to laugh as Logan rolled his eyes and got him a cookie. "This is not ideal for your heath!" Logan called back from the kitchen.Once he had finally returned Logan looked towards Roman, "Truth or dare?" He stated questioningly. "DARE" Roman screamed out excited and hopeful to get something cool.
Virgil got lost in thought again. The other sides were so aggressive to get him to come, yet they were basically completely ignoring him. What was the point of even being out here if they didn't want him there. Leave, it's not like they'll care. Besides you'll any them if you stay. But wouldn't they be mad if I left? Virgil questioned the voice. Don't you understand, they'll get mad at you no matter what you do, so you mine as well make good use of it and go cu-
The voice was cut of by patrons voice. "Anxiety, truth or dare?" Virgil was surprised to say the least that they included him. Then from just one look he could tell they didn't want to, they all had a glare on their face, aimed at him.
"Um, truth?" Virgil said, more as a question. "Out of all of us who do you like the most?" Patton questioned a curious gaze in his eyes. Virgils thought immediately went to Roman. He liked Roman so much it almost hurt.
"Well, were waiting!" Logan said just as curious as the others. Virgil looked away as he quietly mumbled his answer. "For god sake anxiety speak up." Logan said rather frustrated. "Roman" Virgil spoke just loud enough for everyone to hear.
Virgil looked up to see their reactions. Patton and Logan both had questioning looks in their eyes. Meanwhile Roman scoffed and said "you must be joking, we hate each other"
Virgil only while his head in reply as ha explained "No, I don't hate you. I actually kind of admire you, your brave, confidant and can be a really funny person sometimes." Virgil looked up with a wary smile on his face.
Roman looked back at him with a look of surprise. For a second there Virgil had hope that maybe there could be something there between them.
That was until Romans face twisted into one of disgust and hatred.
"Your a pathetic little piece of garbage. I would never be nice to you on purpose or unless Patton told me to. You need to understand that none of us like you! We don't want you in this house or even part of Thomas! I do t want you here, what did you think I would just feel the same way and everything would work out!? Well guess what, life can be a fairytale unless your the villain like yourself! Your a self absorbed brat who only cares about himself."
Virgil couldn't stop the tears from rolling down his eyes. He slowly got up and looked at Roman, "I've known all that for a while. I was just holding onto you as my last chance." He made his way up the stairs back to his room. But not before he heard Roman call out after him,
"Hey anxiety, I wouldn't care if you left this place dead for good."
