This story was not written to be a happily ever after. Life doesn't always give you a perfect ending. Thomas was killed the next day when he got hit by a bus because anxiety wasn't there. Virgil was not the source of the problems. But in the end knowing that didn't stop the death. As much as we want, nothing can be perfect. We also need to watch what we say and do to others. We don't always know how bad it truly effects them.
