Reid's burst

[Hester's POV]

Chase and I danced away in the dance floor along with the crowd and Caleb danced with Sarah beside us. Never in my life had this type of moment before where I smile and laugh so much because of a guy that I couldn't believe is a possible enemy for my group. Chase and I swayed our bodies through the beat of the song, he grabbed my hand to give me a twirl which I let him lead for once all the butterflies in my stomach started coming back and just flies around.

But the good things never last forever we heard a commotion by the pool tables, few turned their heads to the source. Aaron started shoving Reid angrily and then they stride towards the backdoor Tyler and one of Aaron's friends followed in suit. Caleb turned to me and Pogue

"Hey it's Reid and Tyler, gotta go" Caleb looked at Sarah apologetically but she smiled in assurance, so he gives her a kiss on the cheek in thanks before leaving to the backdoor taking his jacket along the way.

Chase pops in to Pogue who was grabbing his leather jacket too "Guys, needs some help?" I get that he is being kind but deep down he just wanted to get between the boys.

Pogue waves his hand in a shoo motion at Chase "Nah man just stay with the girls" he turned to me urgently "Hester come on"

I was following behind Pogue, when we reached the outside Tyler and Reid's back were facing at us while across from them is Aaron and a sidekick I guess ready to brawl. Good thing we got out in time just for them to have a face off first.

Caleb shouted "What's the problem?" and we joined in line with Reid and Tyler so the five of us were facing Aaron and his friend. Aaron pointed at Caleb warningly "None of your damn business!" It was clear he was mad about something when they were playing by the pool tables.

Reid stated "Bet I couldn't make a combo shot, but I did" he turned to us proudly that he won. Caleb was unamused by this "Why don't you just forget about it" it was not really a question.

A voice called interrupting the little argument between the boys "Hey take it someplace ladies" Nick was met by silence from us, everyone just stared at him. "Now!" Nick made his point patting the tip of the baseball bat in his hand.

Aaron's face softened to a scowl instead of his ready-to-beat-up look. He pointed at the bar owner "Whatever you say Nick" And starts walking away bringing his friend with him back inside the bar. Nick closed the door after Aaron entered back in giving us the privacy needed.

All of us turned back to Reid standing alone from where Aaron was earlier. "What were you thinking?" Caleb asked Reid.

The blonde haired guy replied boredly "We're just playing them" Of course, Tyler was there to side with Reid they've been inseparable since then. "Come on Caleb, they were suckers for it"

I growled at him "Not now Tyler" making him go quiet. His excuse was not really helping with Caleb's anger hiding inside of him, I could even feel Reid was gonna go off as well.

"Why don't you quit being such a pussy" Reid taunts Caleb reaching to say it by his ear and made a move to walk pass him, however Caleb stops him on his shoulder keeping him there

"I'm not finish with you yet" Caleb warned him

Suddenly Reid shifted, eyes pure as night and used his hand to grip Caleb's wrist that was holding his shoulder. For a second my cousin was shock with Reid's move. Pogue and Tyler became tensed with what's happening, worries were crossed on their faces but I held myself plain and be ready for any emergency if needed.

"Reid, stop" Caleb groaned, it did not help for Reid to release instead he squeezed harder a few bones were heard cracking slowly, Caleb's veins became more visible on his hand. With no choice Caleb's eyes  shifted and used the Power to push a large force on Reid sending him backwards to a wall and landed on a few empty kegs emitting loud clanking sounds.

Caleb's eyes returned back to normal but his anger was all over the place now. He takes a few steps closer "What will it take for you to get it, it's addictive you moron!" Caleb yelled at Reid,

he does have the right to do this since Reid was more careless than us, taking risks in exposing our secret to the public loads of times. It has always been clear to us all that Caleb's been holding to get mad at Reid for a long time. He continued to scold him out

"You've seen what it can do if you abuse it, you want that? That's your business. But if you use it in the open like you did tonight you risk exposing us all. And that I wont let happen" Caleb finishes gesturing with his hand at me, Tyler and Pogue. Making it clear to Reid that he's not only messing this up for him but to all of us as well.

Reid stands up and opened his palm, eyes remained in his shifting mode. Using his Power the empty keg near him levitated on the air. Unnoticed to all of us Caleb spreads his arms in a 'really?' motion saying "My power's greater than yours"

Reid sneered "Not until you ascend!"

My cousin closed his eyes for a second clearly tired to put up with Reid's idiocy "Alright go for it tough guy"

And Reid did just that, he made the keg fly towards Caleb, a dumb move I would say cause he just used his power to deflect it to some area on his side and used the large force again on Reid, sending him to the chain wall landing painfully on the cases of empty beers breaking a lot in the process.

Caleb's eyes got darker and stride towards Reid. But Pogue and I held both his arms and shoulder keeping him in place to not let him add more further damage on Reid.

"Caleb enough!"  "Stop this is crazy!" Pogue and I recited at the same time.

"It's for his own good. He did it like he did last night, when he ascend he'll be good as dead" Caleb continued to rant out loud while we were holding him. Tyler already took liberty helping Reid up and walked closer to us.

"So I fixed her car, big deal!" Reid explained while half of his weight on Tyler. Caleb tried to get away from our grip but it was no point, he'd have to use the Power to do that yet he doesn't want to hurt us. So he continued to struggle to reach Reid.

"Don't play with me Reid!" Caleb sneered. Reid replies "The hell I do!" and he escaped Tyler's hold and comes near my cousin "I didn't use later" with heavy steps Reid walks back in the bar.

As soon he was inside Caleb stopped struggling. "It's not right using on eachother Caleb" Tyler said trying to make a point.

My cousin did not spare him a glance "Tell it to Reid"

Tyler said no more and joined with Reid inside the bar as well. I began to speak as soon as Tyler was gone "You knew it was really Aaron's fault, why must you be so hard on them?" I said to Caleb, my voice softer like a mother questioning her child.

Caleb rubs his face with his hand trying to take the stress away "You wouldn't understand Hester, just head to the car I'll take you to your dorm" He's annoyed that for sure, so I sighed tiredly "I think I'll just walk on the way" Sometimes I could tell that he was growing tired of taking care of me and the others. So I went back inside leaving Pogue and Caleb alone.
