[Hester's POV]
The connection was too strong, and using my Powers as much like that was enough to drain me quick. First with Chase whom I've shared an unexpected vision of the future and with Pogue going back in time to see the things what he wanted to see but I went a bit far thinking about Chase.
That night, Caleb did come to my room and found my state, he helped me get better for a bit by cheering me up since he wasn't really sure what caused my little passing out. I didn't tell any of them what I shared with Chase, except Pogue who only saw the part where Chase and I kissed
Now Pogue won't really even talk to me since he knows I shared something with Chase but he did feel sorry for making me use the Power for his favor. I didn't mind since it helped me for an excuse to not go to class. So all he did was giving me my favorite snack on top of my desk early in the morning.
So I slept in for the rest of the day, I needed that much rest for the energy I spent that night.
Heard knocking sounds coming from my door, I checked my clock to find it was noon, so sitting up on my bed I called to whoever person was outside to come in.
The door opens slight enough for a head to pop in, Chase himself stared at me with his smile
"Uh I brought you some food" he extended his hand showing the plastic bag to me.
Confused with this "Uhm thanks?" I awkwardly reply watching Chase enter in my room, closing the door behind and sits on the side of my small bed.
Giving me one of his toothy smiles and takes out everything from the bag, putting it on the nightstand. As he talked
"Ever since our talk I couldn't help but think that with all your powers you could've healed yourself and get to class but I come to the conclusion that you like doing these in old school."
I stared at the random objects he placed, there were any girls favorite: A pack of chinese food, chocolates and bottled water, skittles and pills. He would go to the extent in helping and making me feel better, I remembered our kissed on the rooftop.
"You don't need to be sorry" I said
Chase shrugged "Part of me is sorry but the other not really" I guess he knew what I was talking about then.
Giving him a questioned look "Why me then?" the very question I wanted to ask him, any guy could've pick other girls who suits for their type, someone who could tolerate with them and makes them happy. For all I know, I've really given Chase any guy's deserved satisfaction. Not sure if it's a deserved one for him though.
"For a girl who is already powerful, you sure do ask a lot of questions" He said taking a towel from my nightstand wipes the sweat from my neck. The heat in my room was enough for me.
Scoffing at his statement "Powerful doesn't mean I'm all-knowing"
"Can't say that I blame you for that but I want you to know that even with this scheme of mine. I want to be officially yours" he whispered the last part of his sentence.
Staring at him dumbfounded "Oh wow Chase, I just don't think I'm cut out for this" dropping my head on my palms
Chase leans closer "Tell me what you feel for me then"
I slowly raised my head and see how dangerously close we were. Gasping lightly Chase seemed unfazed.
"I like you too, I want to get to know you more but not like this" I shake my head as an answer.
He nodded and backed off a bit, in a good distance from my face "I will wait, we've got all the time. Don't worry I am a patient man" he winks at me
I only smiled gratefully that he understands.
Standing up "I need to get to class now, lunch is almost over" he said before leaning back closer to my ear and whispered "Get well my little witch."
His voice husky, I tried remaining unaffected with his charm boy skills. But I know he can see through me, Chase smiled cheekily and kissed my forehead instead. Walking away from my room.
