A loud laugh wakes Wooyoung up from his slumber that he had needed so badly.
Last night, his sister had woken him up several times shivering in fear of the nightmares she was suffering from.
He didn't sleep all night causing him to fall asleep in class.
Groaning he lifted his head up to see who had woken him up from his peaceful nap. Not at all surprised at the sight of Hongjoong and his friends slapping each other's backs not being able to contain their noisy laughter, he dropped into the cave of his arm again.
"YAH, that hurts!", the blonde boy heard a sweet voice whimper.
"But, to be quite honest, you SHOULD suffer at least a little bit for the lies you have told us.", another voice said scolding the first.
Hongjoong spoke up, "Come on, he was just shy singing in front of others. Isn't that normal?"
The deep voice spoke again laughing, "You should stay out of this, you KNEW he could sing this well!"
Then the sweet voice spoke up again, he was almost entranced by it, he liked it so much.
Wooyoung tilted his head, that was resting comfortably on his own arms, to the direction where the voices were coming from.
He knew he was eavesdropping on their private conversation and felt terrible about it but he couldn't help it, his curiosity outweighed his guilt by miles."I am not THAT good, okay? You are all just in shock I did that. I had no choice, you forced me. I don't even like karaoke!"
That was when Wooyoung clicked.
He sat straight up, eyes wide open looking at the guy that was talking to his friends."No way...", he thought and got up to leave the classroom, wanting to clear his mind. But he soon was stopped by his homeroom teacher blocking the entrance and pointing to the clock at the back of the classroom.
"Mr. Jung, may I remind you that the lesson began two minutes ago already?", he scolded the blonde boy.
Wooyoung waited a second, then scoffed quietly and slowly made his way back to his seat in the middle.
It took only a few minutes of the teacher's soft voice and the hypnotic ticking of the clock and he soon fell asleep on his desk yet again.
Sharp ringing disturbed his desperate attempt to catch up on the sleep he lost the night before and he was wide awake.
The teachers didn't bother waking him up, considerate of the difficulties his family was facing.
Wooyoung dragged his tired body up from his seat and out of the classroom, to the toilet where he immediately took out his phone, opening a particular tab in his web browser.

uhm hi
I just wanted to say something real quick
I'm sorry I didn't answer your text yesterday morning
I wanted to get back to it but then the chat got deleted
I still remember your question tho
and I don't think people get born mean, they either get conditioned to do so or pretend
there's always some sh*t going on in their lives that makes them do things
nobody is mean by nature, people are good3:01 pm
"Come on ace! I thought you could shoot and score with your eyes half open!", the man in the Adidas tracksuit teasingly shouted after the boy on the court. He dribbled his way around two of his teammates, came to a halt and shot, eyes closed.
"Stop playing, start fighting, Woo. This is not a joke, no time for showing off.", his trainer said as he casually strolled across the court, "You need to start playing as a team. Your individual talent is worth nothing when you waste it being a lone wolf. I thought you guys were friends!".
"We are", a small and sweaty boy said walking up to them, "we will figure out how to work as a team, we promise.".
"You better keep that promise Jongho, I don't want to lose my pride losing even one season. You hear me?", he looked at all the boys that had now gathered around the bench on the grass.
"You, you, you and you and especially you", he said pointing at five of the boys, his finger lastly resting in front of Wooyoung's face, "better work on your dynamics and bring home that cup!"
"Yes, sir!", they said in unison, making the old man smile.
He clapped his hands startling some of the boys that had already started to doze off from the hard training. "Now, up, up! Get your asses back home and rest, tomorrow's the semi finals!"
