CHAPTER 14 - The Shadows

Each Element has some kind of ability which can give them the upper hand in their own environment, for example, as soon as a member of the Water Element touches water, they can camouflage with it, basically they can turn into water, that's why their turf is almost completely covered in water. Now then, onto the reason why I mentioned this, Shane and the others were teaching Connor how to harness the ability of The Darkness.

"Right then Connor, harnessing the ability of the Darkness is actually a lot simpler than most of the other Elements think.." Shane then proceeded to take a few steps towards a dark corner. "..Y'see, the power that we possess is one that gives us the name of the Dark Element, we can sink into the place that we emerged from.. The Shadows." Shane then backed right up into the corner of the room, his purple eyes being the only thing visible and he began to sink downwards into the corner, letting out a little laugh as he did so. Connor saw this and was in absolute shock, questioning where he was going and where he was going to come back.

"Um.. what the fuck just happened?!" Connor couldn't help but overreact, he had never seen anything like this in his life, but even in the panic he was still intrigued about the whole thing. He suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder coming from the darkness of the casino, Connor jumped and pulled out his chains, ready to attack, then all he could hear coming from the darkness was laughter. Deep, maniacal laughter.. Shane, of course.

*Laughter* "Jesus, mate! It's only me, calm down!.." *More laughter* "..But anyway, aside from the laughs and the frights, you try it, it's simple and maybe you can scare the others with it.. I'll warn you though, the difficulty gets harder the bigger the brain.. See ya, come back when you've scared all of 'em!" With that, Shane walked off and left Connor pondering what that meant, but either way, he tried it out a couple of times.. to save you time, I'll say that he fucked it the first two times and managed to get it the third, he then went to scare Mitch.

CHAPTER 15 - The Attack

'The bigger the brain, the harder to scare', that was the quote Shane left Connor with, but he didn't know what it meant, well I do, because I'm writing the book and made the quote up for Shane to say. The quote means, that each member has a different level of awareness, depending on the size of their brain.. so Mitch is very easy to scare due to the fact he's thick as pig shit, but Ray is the hardest to scare, since he's the most intelligent.

Connor stalked the casino in search of Mitch, ready to sink into the shadows and pounce. Finally, Mitch was located, he was wiping the floor with Christine in a game of pool, now was the opportunity to get two in one, he crept over and sunk into the shadows.. slow; but surely making his way towards the two, but was pulled out by someone.

"Surely this isn't Shane, he set me up with this task, so why pull me out of it, if Mitch and Christine are over there, then this is.. Ray"  Connor was too deep in thought to realised that he had been caught out in the act by none other than Ray, while he was telling Connor to be more sneaky next time, Shane and the others came towards the two, Shane was a bit annoyed that Ray stepped in, but he realised this would teach Connor something else.. then it hit him and he asked.

"Wait.. wait wait, Ray, I was in complete darkness, how did you see me?" Connor asked the question and Ray gave him a confused look as if he was supposed to know something, but then looked towards Shane in disappointment.. he then spoke to Connor.

"I'm guessing he didn't tell you, we have an advantage along with an ability, we, as members of the Dark Element, can see in the dark, along with being able to sink into the shadows" Ray occasionally made glares of anger towards Shane but this moment of discovering new powers was short lived, since there was an explosion outside of the casino..

"We cannot get break nowadays can we?!" Cried Shane.

"Again, they're so thirsty" Moaned Christine (not in that way you pervs.. well, not yet).

"This is the second time this week" Shouted Mitch.

"This is getting ridiculous" Complained Ray.

"Lemme guess, The Light Ones?" Asked Connor.

"Yep! It's us again! Get out here, we wanna have some fun!" Shouted a very familiar voice from the other side of the doors.
