From Sunsetstardom ❤️❤️I took Harrison's advice, and showered, before heading off to speak to Alex. I needed to get this out of the way. Now. I found him and started talking before he could stop me, "Alex! I've been looking everywhere for you! Okay, I need to explain everything. I like Harrison. A lot. And I think he likes me back. But first of all, things aren't like you said. I'm not out with Harrison yet. I still need that something which all relationships have. I'm still unsure, even though it was a long time ago, whether or not I can be in a relationship quite as deep as girlfriend and boyfriend, but we're trying." I paused, and, on seeing that Alex was interested, continued, " Look I'm so sorry. I didn't even cross my mind that you liked me. We had something special. In fact, we still have something special. And I don't ever want that to change. You're one of my best friends!"
Alex didn't speak for a moment and then he pulled me in for a gentle hug. It was surprisingly comforting to hug him. My heart fluttered for a second and I pulled away asking, " Could we maybe.. start again?"
With that, I hugged him again, as he nodded, and a warm smile spread across his face. "Definitely," he answered, " I don't think I could live with never talking to you again."
Then I remembered the time. "I gotta go see someone... But, catch you later?"
"Of course!"I grinned and headed off to Harrison's house, where he answered the door looking like the most nervous person that. I've ever met.
"Hey," I said softly to him.
He cleared his throat, "Do you wanna.. take a walk?"
"Yeah sure, "I replied. We walked along in silence. I began to wonder what was going on, and I asked as much, to Harrison. "Harry?" He looked up. " Are you.. ok? It's been a while since you've spoken. Have I done something?"
"No no no you haven't done anything... It's just... So I had this plan that I would tell you how I feel and we would get together and live happily ever after. And there's one problem."
"Yeah?"
"I don't know how. You know.. I just don't know where to start. Is saying that I like you, the starting point?"
I beamed, " It can be wherever you want to start. The stars were being to come out above us, and I raised my head to the sky, admiring the starlight, as Harrison began to talk, " Because I do like you. A lot."10th August
Harrison got better, and, in only a matter of weeks, I was stuck in a car, next to my brothers and sister,(Lucy, Isaac and my younger brother, Noah) on my way to Majorca for The Wedding. Let's just say, that it wasn't the nicest of car journeys that I've ever been on...
It started when Aunt Cassandra decided that she was going to give a four-year-old -namely my brother - a share-packet of haribos to eat on the way. I texted Harrison: "When on a three-hour journey to the airport, never give your pain of a younger brother the sugariest haribos in human existence unless you want to be dealing with a lot of vomit...😓😕😂...Mx" Harrison texted back: "Oh wow good luck with dealing with that one:)x"
"And I did text you for moral support.. and so that I can laugh about it.. rather than cry about being covered in sick right now!!;)"
"I was about to say that I miss you right now and that I can't wait to have a hug... But I think I'll wait until you've cleaned yourself up first...Hxx"I grinned as I read Harrison's message, and as I slid my phone into my pocket, Noah, who thankfully had stopped throwing up, asked me curiously, "Are you in love? What does it feel like?" he didn't wait for my response and continued talking, "I think I'm in love too. I'm in love with my best friend, Sophie, because she shares her snack with me at school. Is that love?"
I laughed, ruffling my innocent brother's hair, imagining him telling this Sophie girl that he was in love."I think you might have to wait and see," I told him.
When we finally arrived at the airport, the fondness towards my younger brother was wearing off, as every four seconds, he would ask, "Mummy! Are we nearly there yet?" This is a usual routine which happens in the car when with the Connely family, and, by the end of the car journey, I was tearing my hair out with frustration, after Noah had asked my mum that, at least 50 times.
As Harrison said, I had to spend a long time in the toilets, cleaning myself up so that I didn't look like I had been doused in sick. When I finally made it out of the toilets, I made my way over to join my family, where they were waiting with Harrison's family, my Aunt, Sam ( her fiancé) and their children.
Onsight of seeing Lunatic Leo and Eccentric Elsie, I groaned, but not loud enough for any of Aunt Cassandra, or her family, to hear. Whilst I took in the image of me incredibly chaotic family and my best friend's family, Harrison himself put his hands around my eyes, "Guess who?"
I smiled and told him, "If it's not Harrison, then a random stranger is covering my eyes and is about to hug me. In fact.." I joked, " I think that I would prefer it if it was a random stranger hugging me..""Hey!" Harrison laughed, taking his hands away from his eyes, and hugging me.
"If you two are done with the flirting, then we need to head off to security," a voice said behind us. I spun around and saw my brother standing there, grinning like a Cheshire Cat. Harrison hurried off and Isaac fell into step with me. "So the resident couple of Cambridge is flirting again. Watch out sis, otherwise, somebody might think that you actually like him!""Hey I'm the one who does the jokes around here!" his girlfriend called to him, coming over to talk to him.
As a whole, our family managed to get through security okay. They gave my sister a drug check, checked my dad and my Aunt and confiscated a bottle of Isaac's aftershave, but that's nothing on my family, trust me. Harrison and I were delighted to find out that my Aunt was looking after Elsie and Leo on the plane, and not us! We were going to be sitting with Lucy, Isaac and his girlfriend, Katie.
It only took us three hours to get to Majorca, which was good, because even though I was sitting a few rows away from my mum, dad and Sam, and my aunt with Elsie and Leo, it wasn't exactly the best of journeys.
It started when, of course, Elsie wanted to go to the toilet, after the plane had just got into the air and the seatbelt sign was off. My Aunt tried to shush her but she kept yelling, "But mummy! I need to pee! I can't wait that long!! I need to pee!" I was just about to sink to the floor with embarrassment when Elsie spotted me and marched up to me. All I could think was, "Uh oh."
And trust me, I was well aware that half the plane was now staring at me and Elsie. Elsie started tugging my arm hard and just as Harrison stood up to intervene, some blood dropped out of my nose, onto the floor. Great. A nose bleed. Then a flight attendant came rushing out and handed me a whole box of tissues, and took Elsie off me, instructing me to sit down. I did, and all too gratefully!
I sat back in my seat and Harrison asked me if I was okay. He looked kind of stressed out by the whole thing, but I think that was just because I had a nose bleed. "Don't worry," I reassured him, "I'm good.. Especially as I got rescued by one of the most embarrassing scenarios possible!" Even so, he grabbed hold of my hand, his palm surprisingly warm against mine.
