Chapter 2
7 Months Later
December 13th, 2019.Stella sat in the jeep she was renting out for the day, debating on whether or not she should get out to continue with her plan or hit the road with no return. After contemplating it for what seemed to be like hours, she came to the decision to carry through with her plan. She stepped out of her jeep and made her way towards the arena, feeling self conscious as she brushed off her outfit that consisted of some light blue leather shorts and a puffy gold shirt, a pair of strapped heels paired with it. She was now rethinking everything as she walked up towards the arena, fans aligning outside at every entrance, anxiously waiting to get in and see him.
Did her makeup look good? Was the outfit she was wearing good enough? Should she even be going? What would happen if he saw her? What would happen when she saw him?
As she arrived, she exhaled deeply while taking in the sight. It was too late to turn back by this point. She handed her ticket the workers and made her way towards the pit, squeezing her way through the crowd apologetically. She couldn't help herself though. She needed to see him and be somewhat close to him. Though, at the same time, she was afraid that he'd find her in the crowd which made her stay back from the front of the stage. She stood in the middle and waited, the lights going off which meant one thing. The crowd started to go wild as blue lights started to appear on stage. An introduction came on and within seconds, Harry was on and singing 'Golden.' At the mere sight of him, Stella froze in her spot, watching his every move. Her hands began to sweat and shake as his eyes looked through the crowd. He continued to dance and sing to the song, looking so free and alive. Even the outfit he was wearing made him look so happy and himself. She noticed that above his cross necklace was a pearl necklace. She loved his new sense of style. It felt more freeing and himself which she was happy to see.
"You're so golden!" The crowd screamed the chorus with him, Stella more so watching than joining along due to the history behind the song.
This was bringing back a lot for her: the fans screaming out his name, the sound of his voice, and the sight of him. Even the sight of Mitch was too much for her to handle. She thought that she should just leave right then and there to save herself from any more pain but she decided to push through it. Despite everything that went down, she still had feelings attached to Harry and wanted to see him just once more before she moved on.
'Watermelon Sugar' was the next one to play and Stella found herself starting to jam along to it but then 'Adore You' came on and she instantly clammed back up into her shell. Unfortunately, this song no longer meant what it had when she first wrote it with him. Now it was about her, the beautiful brown skinned woman.
She had yet to listen to the album in its entirety and was dreading the moment that 'Isabella' would come on. Little did she know that Harry had scratched that song off the album. After everything that went down between them, he had grown to loathe the song which led to him taking it off of the album.
"I'm back!" Harry smirked as 'Golden' finished up, the crowd going wild as he began to talk, "You have one job tonight and that is to have fun. Please, feel free to be whoever you wanna be in this room tonight. Let's sing this next one." Harry finished up his short little speech before going into 'Watermelon Sugar.'
'Lights Up' was the next song which had Stella singing and dancing along to it. That single was the only one she had bothered to listen to. She couldn't bring herself to listen to the rest of the album or even check on it because the sound of his voice was too much for her to bear. The one time she listened to 'Lights Up,' she had to schedule an appointment with her therapist right after due to how much of a hot mess she was.
'Cherry' was after that, setting the mood into a more sorrowful one. She was stunned by the ending of it, Camille's voice playing through the speakers. This made her even more sad than she had already been. The sound of Camille's voice reminded her of the phone call she overheard with Harry where he was talking about what she assumed to be Isabella. The thought of Camille also brought her back to the first night they met each other. She was sad and drunk while he was sad and exhausted. They bonded that night. It was unfortunate that they didn't even talk anymore.
