Chapter 8
"And we're here!" Mitch smiled over at Harry and Stella who were cuddled up next to one another, one airpod in each ear as they listened to 'Like Real People Do' by Hozier.
Mitch's announcement grabbed Stella's attention, making her look out the window to see a cloudy sky with snow falling down from it which made the city look like a winter wonderland.
"I'm so excited! I've never been out of America before so this is all so new to me." She told Harry who was intently listening to her, staring at her lips as she spoke and smiling as he picked up on the way her lip would slightly curve to the left when she said certain words.
"You've never been out of the states?" Harry questioned, a surprised look on his face.
"No," She shook her head. "I got a passport as soon as I turned eighteen and planned on going to Italy but then things kind of changed." She said, referring to her mother's death.
"I see," He nodded his head, catching on to what she was saying and not continuing in order to keep her happy. "I can't wait to take you to some of my favorite places." He smiled at her, trying to lighten up the somber mood that had fallen over them.
"I can't wait either." She smiled back at him, excited to get to know him better.
"Hey lovebirds, off we go!" Mitch shouted at them from the front of the private jet, his bags in his hands as Sara nudged him and gave him a threatening look that read 'don't bother them.'
"So, what are the plans for today?" Stella asked Harry.
"Whatever you want to do. We could hang out at the hotel and rest before the concert if you're too jetlagged or we could go and be tourists for the day. It's up to you." He said, giving her control.
"There's this one place that I've always wanted to go to." She told him.
"And where is that?" He was intrigued.
"You're going to think it's really lame." She laughed at the thought of it.
"What is it?" He wanted to know.
"I want to go to Cecil Court. It's just an alley with secondhand bookstores and antiquarian shops. My mother studied abroad during her first year of college and lived here, She used to go to this one bookstore called 'MarchPane' over there and I've always wanted to go." She explained.
"Then we will go." He told her with a smile, making her return the gesture as the walked off of the jet, a bag in each hand.
"Go where?" Nosey Jeff asked as he came up from behind them, scaring the two ever so slightly.
"On our first date." Harry announced.
"That's exciting." Jeff nodded.
"Technically we've had a first date before. We just weren't dating." Stella butted in, playing around with Harry.
"Well then, our first official date." He corrected himself.
"You two have fun. Just be at the Ballroom at four thirty by the latest." Jeff instructed.
"Sir, yes, sir." Harry jokingly saluted to him which made Jeff roll his eyes and walk off.
"I want to see you in a suit." Stella blurted out.
"You've seen me in a suit before." Harry said, confused as to what she was referring to.
"No, I mean like a military suit." She clarified.
"Oh. Why?" He asked, an eyebrow raising as well as the corner of his mouth.
"Because I feel like you'd look hot," She told him straight up which made him laugh. "Men in uniform hit differently." She shrugged, joining in on the laughter.
