𝚂𝚊𝚏𝚏𝚛𝚎𝚎𝚗 𝚠𝚊𝚜 𝚜𝚘 𝚝𝚒𝚛𝚎𝚍. Four more bombs dropped throughout their stay in the bunker. Saffreen didn't sleep. She lay there on her bunk, her knees pressed against her chest, rocking slightly back and forth, just to give her something to do.

Everyone followed a strict schedule of exercise and bathing and sleep. Everyone was given brief moments of socialization. Saffreen stayed close to Finnick during those.

Katniss's sister, Prim, had a cat. During socialization, everyone would gather to watch it chase the beam of a flashlight. Saffreen watched from afar.

The power came and went. Saffreen didn't leave her compartment at all one day, even when she saw Katniss making her way to talk to Finnick that night.

After twenty-four hours of nothing, everyone was allowed to leave the bunker. Their old compartments were destroyed, and so they were directed to new ones. Saffreen, Finnick, Katniss, and Gale were pulled aside, led to Special Defense and into a room almost identical to Command. Coin, Plutarch, Haymitch, Katniss's film director Cressida, were all there. And they all looked exhausted. Someone had made coffee. Plutarch was holding onto his cup like he feared it was going to be taken away.

There was no preamble. "We need all five of you suited up and aboveground," Coin stated. "You have two hours to get footage showing the damage from the bombing, establish that Thirteen's military unit remains not only functional but dominant, and, most important, that the Mockingjay is still alive. Any questions?"

"Can we have coffee?" Finnick asked.

Saffreen grinned as she was handed a steaming cup. Katniss eyed her own cup disapprovingly. Finnick poured some cream into her cup. "Want a sugar cube?" he asked. Katniss smiled faintly. "Here, it improves the taste." He dropped in three.

Saffreen gulped the cup down greedily, already feeling the caffeine hit her. She let Finnick place a sugar cube on her tongue. He actually had some strength to tease her, surprisingly. "You'll taste better when I kiss you."

She sat back while a prep team readied her for filming. Caffeine coursed through her veins. It had been so long since she'd had coffee.

She held on tight to Finnick as they made their way to the surface. Katniss and Gale were already there.

"What day is it?" Katniss asked, looking around.

Saffreen's eyes were wide as they were informed that September would begin next week.

They reached the first crater caused by the bombs. "Can you rebuild it?" Gale asked.
