𝙿𝚎𝚘𝚙𝚕𝚎 𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚛𝚢𝚠𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎. The snow fell heavy and thick, blinding Saffreen as she made her way through the crowd with Gale and Katniss. The sun was pale overhead, giving just enough light to see those closest to them and nothing else.

It would have been helpful if it weren't for the fact that none of them could pick Cressida and Pollux out from the rest of the Capitol people.

Gunfire sounded somewhere, not very far.

"Where are we going, Uncle?" a small, shivering boy asked the man he was walking with.

"To the president's mansion. They'll assign us a new place to live," the man answered, panting as he lugged along a small safe.

"Stay to the right!" a Peacekeeper was shouting nearby.

Saffreen moved away at the sight, biting her lip, shivering.

It was getting brighter, though the snow picked up along with it. Saffreen spotted Cressida and Pollux, probably thirty yards ahead.

Katniss was looking around, anxiety starting to grow in her expression. She moved closer to Gale and Saffreen, lowering her voice. "We might need to split up. There's a girl-"

Gunfire tore up from the crowd. Several people surrounding the trio dropped.

Katniss grabbed on to Saffreen as they ran to hide behind a display of boots outside of a shoe store.

"Who is it?" Gale asked, nudging Katniss. "Can you see?"

Katniss was frozen as more gunshots filled the air.

"Katniss," Saffreen urged.

"They're shooting from the roof above us," Katniss answered. "Trying to take out the Peacekeepers, but they're not exactly crack shots. It must be the rebels."

"If we start shooting, that's it. The whole world will know it's us," Gale said.

Saffreen kept her voice low. "I could try my knives, but that might just draw even more attention. And I'm not all that great with my gun."

She shifted the weight of the weapon on her shoulder.

Katniss shook her head. "No. We've got to get to Snow."
