Blake had always believed himself to have a very calm mind. And for good reason. It usually took a lot to perturb Blake. And yet this evening had proved to be a hell of a lot.
After he had received Chiron’s call, Blake immediately called up Rose, and informed her of the situation. And while the two were on the way here, they had agreed on a suitable plan of action. Blake was supposed to keep any resistance that they might expect busy, while Rose was supposed to quietly sneak away with the boy, and get him to safety. However, things didn’t exactly go as planned. And Blake blamed himself for it. Although he had been warned of the enemy’s competence on multiple occasions before this, he had totally failed to gauge the extent of the powers that he was supposed to face today.
As a result, Rose had to let go of her own responsibility and intervene. Rose was happy because even though the mission didn’t go as planned, they had the boy, which is what mattered above all else. Rose could easily satisfy herself with such notions, Blake, however, was different. For him, the night had turned out to be a bitter disappointment. He felt like he was losing out on all fronts.
The enemy was stronger than he had expected, and worse, even though he had survived through this, Blake still had some of his own personal and slightly stronger enemies to deal with.
