A/n:

Well, first off. I want to say thank you for taking the time to read my story. I started it, not knowing what was going happen until later on, but I'm glad you guys like it so much. Now I have some 'bad news'. This book is coming to a close. Don't worry, there will be a sequel. You guys WILL NOT find out what Elijah is planning until at least the second book (meaning there is a possibility you won't). I have a lot planned for this book and the next. I hope you like it. It will still focus on Nikias more, but you'll get a nice dose of  Katherine in the mix. This chapter will start off kind of weird, but bare with me. Okay, that's all I had to tell you. Bye

I woke up with a throbbing headache, and went to move my hands to my head. I was stopped by something that bound my wrists together. I became confused, and assessed my situation. My arms were tied behind my back with a rope soaked in a strange liquid that burned slightly. The smell of wolfsbane reached my nose, and I furrowed my brows. I looked at my surroundings, and realize I'm not at the Salvatore Boarding house. The walls were a dusty cream color with cracks running up and down almost every inch of it. There was a pile of debris in the left corner farthest away from me, and a hole above it. I assume the ceiling is unstable, and make a mental note to not go stomping around. In front of me was a two sided staircase. One sided looked old and neglected while the other was in a less destroyed state. The room had no other furniture other than the couch I'm laying on.

I heard a pain filled moan come from beside me on the floor. I moved over to the edge of the couch and peer over. Laying on the floor was Elena holding her head try to, from what I can assume, care for a headache. 'Well someone knows me far to well if they left me tied up, and not Elena.' I think.

"You okay? You look like shit." I said softly.

Elena's head snapped up to my face on the arm of the couch.

"Um...y-yeah. I think so. Where are we?" She stammered.

I thought for a second on what to tell her. If I tell her we've been kidnapped she will, surely, have a heart attack. I guess the only way to break it to her is obvious.

"Somewhere that we don't recognize. As in, not at home or Stefan's and Damon's." I said casually.

Elena stares at me for a minute, and starts giggling. I don't think I said anything funny, but whatever. I heard talking in the next room, and shushed Elena. She did but small stifled laughs continued to come from her general area. I shook it off and listened in on the conversation being had down stairs.

"What were we thinking. They won't agree to this. They won't let us off without killing one of us." The first voice said nervously.

"Stop freaking out. We can trust Him. He wouldn't break a promise. He's too honorable for that." Voice number two said confidently.

I thought over who they could be talking about, and found I only know three people who were like they described. The Original Elijah, Alarick, and Matt. I doubt they would talk to, or about, Matt and Alarick, so the only safe bet is Elijah. If that's the case then we have a big problem. I stop listening to the two downstairs, and looked over to Elena. She had settled down, but the amusement in her eyes changed to slight fear. I assume she heard something that wasn't all too comforting. That or she just realized she's into girls, which would be ridiculously  stupid to do right now, and I doubt that she's thinking about her sexuality at a time like this. You know, considering we might die.

I heard footsteps coming toward us, and felt an, even stronger than usual, urge to protect Elena. I don't know what else to do, other than keep her safe. Which is strange considering we just had a fight. Normally I would ignore her all this week and the next, but desperate times call for desperate measures. The resonating sound of their shoes were making it eerie in the large room, which bounced the sound around even more. I motioned for Elena to lay down in her previous position. She, somehow, knew what I meant, even though I'm sure I looked like some kind of weirdo with a neck problem, and let her hair flare around her as she resumed her position. After, what seemed like, forever the person entered. It was a woman with short auburn red hair. Her eyes were a slight hazel color, that seemed to glow from my position at the other side of the room. I could smell the stench of blood all over her, and wanted to gag. Instead, I made a face of extreme discomfort and twisted my wrists trying to free myself. I soon found that the more twisting I did, the more painful it became. I hissed slightly but otherwise covered it.

"You must be the older sister. Nikias was it?" She said in a slightly confident British tone.

I looked at her and sneered.

"Who's asking? 'Cause if it's you, I doubt I'll tell." I snapped.

She looked slightly amused.

"Well if you think I'm going to hurt you, then you can calm down. That's not my intension." She said calmly.

I studied her for a moment, contemplating what she could possibly gain from working with Elijah. Then it dawned on me. I know exactly who she is.

"You did something to upset Santa didn't you, Rosey?" I said in a slightly cocky tone.

She looked shocked that I would be so capricious in this kind of situation.

"How would you know anything about that?" She snapped, quickly recovering.

I only shrugged, and looked to the place that Elena was.

"You know you didn't have to take both of us. You could have taken just me." I said calmly.

Rose started to fidget with her fingers in a nervous pattern, so I assume she wasn't the one who took us in the first place.

"I guess you had someone else do it for you. Maybe your little friend that you were arguing with downstairs." I voiced.

She seemed to tense in response.

"How would you know about that? Your just a ordinary human." She said, shocked and conflicted.

I noticed that Rose was slowly backing away, and decided that I'll tell her how I knew. She seemed trustworthy, even if she kidnapped Elena and I.

"I have a strange ability to enhance my senses. I don't know how, but oh well." I said.

She looked skeptical for a moment, and took another step backwards.

"Why are you telling me this?" She asked.

I ignored her, and went on.

"By the way I'm not a Doppleganger. Just an 'FYI' for future reference." I said.

She stepped back until her back was against the cracked and splintered door frame. I don't even know why she's freaking out. I haven't done anything, moving or twitching included.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

She continued to ignore me and look behind me. Rose had started mumbling, under her breath, incoherent pleas to "whatever is out there" (her words not mine) to let her live. Nothing she said was sensual at all, so I just turned around to see for myself.
