Chapter 13: Sister, Sister

*Quinn POV*

“Why are you so quiet?” I laughed at my friend in the passenger seat.

“Cos its two in the morning. I am TIRED” she yawned

“You didn’t sleep on the plane?” I asked, careful not to take my eyes off the road.

“Those seats are impossible to get comfortable in” she groaned.

“You’re like the size of a koala, how much space do you need?” I furrowed my eyebrows.

“Obviously, more than the airline was providing” she joked.

“I’m glad you mentioned the word ‘more’…” I started “Because I’m going to some of that in order to wrap my head around this whole triangle-sized bomb you decided to drop on me before you left”

“It’s kind of a long story actually” I knew she was avoiding.

“It’s an hour drive…” I pointed out.

“Fine, but you’re getting the short version”

  “From the top please”

“Well, with me and Mike, we were just two lonely kids seduced by peer pressure. I liked him, he liked me, we were friends, and that’s that”

“Ya know, that’s kind of sweet…a little sad, but sweet” I shrugged.

“We both agreed that we’d never speak of it again because it was kind of irrelevant since we didn’t really know what we were doing and we’re just better off friends. What’s that face about?”

“Wasn’t it weird? He’s like your best friend and you kissed him”

“Not really, at least to me it wasn’t. I told you we didn’t know what we were doing”

“And what about you and Ashton huh?”

“How about you mind your business, eh” she teased, smirking as she adjusted her seat in a down position “Wake me when we get there”

With hardly anybody on the road we made it home in record time and both made it off to bed until the sun came up.

“Good morning!” Calum sang from the kitchen

“Good morning” Addy yawned.

“I made breakfast” Calum smiled as Ella ran to him in the kitchen, probably trying to sneak some food in exchange for puppy dog kisses.

“Hey girl” Calum cooed

“Awe, thank you Cal, you didn’t have to do this” I told him.

“Nonsense, we’re practically family, it’s what we do” he smiled plating the table.

“So, does that make you like my mom and dad” Addy teased. Even though she’s dangerously light-hearted, she’s smarter than she leads on, just not as subtle, but it made Calum laugh.

“I think we’d be more of an aunt and uncle” he replied with a beet red stain in his cheeks. “Come and get it ladies!” he clapped his hands together

“This is absolutely fantastic!” Addy states. “Thank you Cal” she smiled.

“You’re welcome, and Thank you” Calum smiled

“You’re not going to eat with us?” I asked.

“You’d better sit yourself down before I drag you here myself”

“Yes Ma’am” he chuckled “I’d hate to disappoint”

“SO!” Addy grabbed the attention of the table “How was your weekend” she smiled. She can be such a pest sometimes, but I love her with all her quirks. The room went quiet as Calum and I looked at each other, our faces painted red.
