"When were you going to mention your new job, Y/n? Cause all I've heard from you this past week was 'See you later' and 'Good night'."

I propped my head on one hand while the other slowly rose the spoon to my mouth. I savored the taste of my cereal for a second or two, carefully planning my excuse.

Ultimate procrastination.

He was impatiently drumming his fingers on the kitchen table and gawking at me like I was a convicted drug dealer or something. The uncomfortable feeling was actually mutual. It was similar to a prosecution.

"I didn't have enough time, as you've just said. It didn't seem like a big deal so I planned to tell you when the adjustments would have laid down. And guess what, uncle, I'm 20. Not really a baby, right?"

"... Wrong." He mumbled and stubbornly pouted at his full plate. "You are still my little girl."

I sighed and sent him a mild smile. "I know, I know. But you are letting your hormones run wild. You do realize that?"

"No, I do not!" I was far more impressed when I saw an adult throw a tantrum. I responded to it with love and calmness than either bribery or threat wouldn't be acceptable.

"Ugh, yes you do." I argued back, not taking the poor, mediocre explanation.

"Take that back!" As he pointed a fork with bacon stuck to it towards me, he realized how correct my assumption was. "Oh, I guess I'm a bit... On the edge?" He reeled his head and sat back on his seat. "Things at the office aren't looking so good."

"Hw's dat?" I rumbled with full mouth. I sipped the orange juice and flushed the remaining of my honey-flavored flakes down my throat. "Is everything ok?"

He totally forgot about my job. There won't be any need to lie... YASSSSS!

"Ah nothing for the youngsters ears." Garp dismissed the topic and forged ahead to the next theme of the day... The weather.

I shrugged and took the empty bowl as well as quickly glancing at the digital clock on the shelf. "If you say so. Ok, I have to go. Those classes won't wait for anyone." With my heavy bag hanging from one shoulder, I waved him goodbye.

"In that case, should I leave too or clean up a bit...?" Seriously, you old man... Can't you wash your own dishes for once?
