I sat up in bed with a jolt, glad to be awake and away from the confusing, chaotic sights that appeared while I was asleep. I hardly opened my eyes while my face felt delicate, puffy, and raw as well as my ribcage that was tightened around by something. Breathing deeply, I regained some calm and the lack of light was highly appreciated.

I reached under my pillow where I usually left my phone and as I searched through the empty space I realized that it wasn't there. My eyes widened in realization. "I wasn't dreaming." I threw the duvet and ran outside the room, wearing only a simple blouse and socks, the lack of decency not crossing my mind.

As I exited the comfort of the warm place, exchanging it for the cold and sterilized space outside, I almost hit the nearest wall and discovered myself in the complete dark hallway. I didn't have the slightest idea what time it was, though judging by the lack of lights, it must have been past eleven o'clock. "Law!" I searched frantically one unit after another until I noticed a slight crack in the lightened office.

I carefully knocked. "Law?"

No answer was heard from the opposite of the door and so my curiosity grew even larger. I allowed myself the step inside and close the door behind me as silently as possible. I was shocked when I found the raven behind his desk, sleeping on the chair as his dark strands fell on his face, brushing the white, glowing skin.

My heart was fluttering under the soft fabric, scared to create a sudden move that would wake him from his slumber. However, my inner resolve didn't want to give up and stop. I tiptoed towards the desk and when I reached him, my hand subtly went through his hair. "Thank you for staying." I said in almost a faint whisper, relived that I at least got those words off my chest.

I was close to accept my end of the road, while preparing myself to turn around and walk through his door for the last time, however I was pulled back by the wrist, closing the distance and our faces meeting each other.

"Does it hurt somewhere?" He murmured, his voice and the expression he had in total contrast.

I could only shake my head.

"You are not lying, are you?"

"No."

"Good." The raven gently pushed me away and examined my face thoroughly, frowning at the bruises that would probably astonish even the clumsiest people with accident-tendencies. "You are reckless."

I ignored his comment, which I heard a dozen of times before, and declared the thought that was hanging in the back of my mind, all while having the feeling of disdain. "Thank you for rescuing me."

Law seemed nothing but agitated, clearly in the need for the radical amount of energy to deal with or conversation. His words slurred at the end, like a broken record, somehow giving me the impression of calm before the storm. "Idiot."
