chapter 12: THE MASKED MAN

                        

"I asked Vedika about the last night in basement but she wasn't able to give satisfactory answer. So, I took all the keys of my NGO from Vedika and ordered her to not come again in this NGO. I requested her to not commit any mistake as it would lead her in problem. I requested her to not indulge herself in a crime as it would destroy her career but she refused to take my help and gave warning to me. Her warning showed me the sign of coming danger in our lives. She abandoned me like I was her enemy."

I became extra conscious after knowing her truth. I appointed extra guards and opened the basement for extracurricular activities. I advised every member of my NGO to keep an eye on each other and inform me if there is any problem.

Meanwhile, I saw Sam. She was unable to walk properly. She told me about the attack on her last night. I asked her to take care of herself and offered my house to her to live as she might be alone in India. But she refused as she lived with her boyfriend. I asked her to observe every person of this NGO and send me the report of her observations. She wanted to know the reason behind my actions but I refused to tell anything. She agreed to help me and demanded the confidentiality of her work. I assured her that I would not spoil her research but it is the need of the hour that's why I am asking her help.

We heard a lot of noise while we were in the mid of our conversation, in my office. When we reached to the crowd, we saw a dead body lying on ground. It was a man who came to meet her wife. Her wife lived here since she was in depression. Her wife taunted him for all of his deeds and told us that he came to her for taking signature on divorce paper. Police questioned her and was about to arrest her when Daksh came to rescue her. He told the police that he forced and beat that lady on the terrace. He was trying to push her from terrace but unfortunately got slipped on his own.

He became eyewitness of the case and saved that lady from being arrested. The whole day Police questioned every member of NGO but found nothing other than what was told by Daksh.

Everything became mystery and we all are in danger. I decided to spy on Vedika to know the truth. I reached her home at 8PM. I entered in her room through the window and started looking for some clue for that unknown man. Suddenly, I heard someone crying and begging for help. I peeped out from her room and saw Daksh attacking a girl while Vedika was sitting and enjoying. He had an axe through which he attacked on that young girl. He separated her body in two parts and then drank her blood. He enjoyed cutting her into small pieces and bathing in her blood. He was talking to her about how she betrayed an innocent man who latter attempted suicide. He played with the body pieces and then laid down on it. He was excited and he danced on her body pieces. Latter, he packed the body pieces into number of opaque packets and was about to leave when his attention drew towards me. I was scared as he saw me behind the bars. I was about to run when he threw that axe on me. I was bleeding when he came near to me. He again attacked me, but he suddenly stopped and then dragged me to the place where he killed that lady.

He said that he knew about the will and would not kill me until all the property is transferred to Vedika. He wanted the NGO on his name so that he can run it on his own ways. He wanted to create a society free from all evil people. He told me that he would kill everyone who would try to stop him.

Vedika supported him and said, "Shaurya, you knew that your father's property is on your future wife's name, but still you are unmarried. Your father changed the will when he came to know about your secrets. He gave everything to you and didn't give anything to me. I hate you and your father. But I can't kill you because if you died then this property will transfer to the trust. I want you to marry a girl of my choice, so that I can get what I want."

"I will love to die but I will not let you to play with everyone's life."I said.

"My dear brother, I knew everything and you have to accept my proposal, else I will kill Rishi, your uncle Raman and then you."

"Why are you doing this Vedika. We were cousins and you loved me a lot."

"Nope, you are not my cousin. You are my step brother. Your father promised to marry my mother and he raped her. He killed my mother when I was born. He abandoned me but I was lucky that your aunt saved me and gave me a respectful life. She told me truth when she had heart attack. She loved me and didn't want to die with this secret. I requested your father to accept me as his daughter but he denied. So I killed her by the support of Daksh. He helped me to get justice. So, I helped him in his motive of creating a society free from criminals."

"But you both are criminals. You don't have any right to kill anyone."

"No, I am not criminal. I am doing justice here and a judge had all the rights to punish the culprit. I am the god and I can do anything what I want. You have to follow my demands else I will kill your loved one. I am going to kill someone in your family. Stop me if you can."

I begged Vedika for help but she attacked on me and I got fainted away.
