"Yo Jamie, Is Libby and Liam back yet?" Asked Sage peeking his head inside Jamie's bedroom.
"No, you asked me only 5 minutes ago. Besides let them have some fun. I haven't seen Liam this happy in years." He said while reading his book.
"Same with Libby..." He sighed sliding down the wall he was now leaning against. Kinda inviting himself in you could say.
"Then why are you so worried?"
"Because what if he does something to her? Like something I'm not supposed to say bad..." He mumbled.
"Liam wouldn't do that." Jamie huffed and put away his book to give Sage's full attention.
"But... what if? Her father told me that I had to protect her ever since he... you know." He mumbled, looking down. Jamie stared at the boy, sitting up and walking towards him. "I think you need to trust in him, Sage. Tell me, how long have you seen Libby actually happy ever since then?" Sage replied with nothing and Jamie sighed. "See. He would never hurt her. Plus, you should let her be happy for once. I don't think that you setting these damn ground rules and preventing her to do something so simple is going to make her happy."
"Yeah.. But I love her and Libby changes her mind every two seconds. Liam is just another phase she's going to grow out of?" He shrugged and looked back at Jamie.
Jamie breathed deeply letting out a little smile. "Liam has seen shit, shit that changes a person. Libby has too. Both of her parents are dead! The most you've probably been through is imagining how much pain Libby's in. But you haven't felt nothing! You keep saying all this shit about relating to her but YOU know nothing!" He brushed his hair out of his face. "How would you feel if I told you some shit everyone has been through!" Jamie chuckled "But look at you, You're the perfect son with the perfect life. You probably haven't even worked for anything in your life. You have parents who fricken payed for you to be here."
"Jamie.."
"What?"
Sage wrapped the boy into a hug. With tears streaming down both of their faces. Jamie hugged back and tightened his grip. The two stood their for what seemed like hours until Liam barged in with Libby.
"Um did we come in at the wrong time?" Questioned Libby
The two quickly jolted away from each other blushing profusely.
"So Um W-hat do y-you guys Ne-need?" Stammered Jamie
"Oh nothing we just wanted to grab some snacks from the snack bucket." He said pointing to the closet
"Oh okay." Jamie quickly opened the door and grabbed this box from the top shelf. "Here you go."
"Thanks?" He said looking at the two males. "Let's go Libby." He quickly grabbed her hand and slammed the door before leaving.
