Jessie:

I shouldn't go see him. But he's probably just wanting the homework from calculus and to catch up on the work he's missed so far. Maybe the dumb jock, the player boy, is finally settling down and trying to get good grades. Probably not. But I guess I should see. I don't owe him anything I think to myself as I walk away from my locker.

Most of the school has cleared out so I wouldn't be surprised if he's left already. I walk out the front of school and see him. His back is turned, hiding his face as he walks towards his bright blue Ute. I know it's him. His walk, his broad shoulders and slim waist, his long dark hair waving in the wind.

I consider leaving him. Letting him go without talking but something stops me and before I know it I'm yelling his name out from across the street.
