Go outside (if you safely can). Put on your writer hat (or mittens). Try to notice 5 things to write about.
I will write a paragraph for each thing and afterwards put the thing in brackets.
Darwen Tower was a place of two halves. By day, it was sounded by walkers admiring the view and by night it was a place for dangerous behaviour. Not the place for a girl, barely 16. This is was how my friend ended up. She wasn’t even drunk, or anything like that. She was just messaging this guy, and then casually told me she was meeting him at Darwen Tower on a cold winter’s evening. I explained to her why she shouldn’t go, and she convinced me that she had changed her mind about it. I went home at ease, until I got a call from her and many messages which I could tell she was in a bad situation. I knew she hadn’t changed her mind; she had met up with this dangerous guy at Darwen Tower.

What do you do if you don’t fit in? What do you do if you always feel pressure from your parents? And what do you do if your peers make you feel like an outsider? Well, you do what I do, walk along the moorland footpaths. This is the only place I can be me, the true me. Nobody or anything expects me to be a certain way. I also find it helps me with my thoughts, all I do is tell nature my thoughts, I speak them out loud. The quiet rustling of the heather reminds me to slow my life down sometimes, to be more carefree.

Annabelle’s heart rate rises. She feels her hands begin to go clammy, she knows this will hinder her. She feels the energy flowing through her and the nerves. Just as she feels she cannot take it anymore, the tonoi announced her and her partners’ names. She moves into the ring and begins her routine. Even though she is concentrating hard, she can still feel the many eyes watching her, both physically and live on televisions across the world. She salutes the judges and leaves.
“That was an incredible performance from Annabelle Berry on Eccleshill One in a Million competing for Great Britain” announced the commentator.
Annabelle breathed a sigh of relief; she could do no more to win the Olympic gold.

As the cold weather recedes the spring flowers spring into bloom. Out of the tiny buds the flowers burst out and unfold revealing their true glory. All colours of the rainbow fill the woods, gardens and verges across the country. Just be being their they brighten peoples’ days and bring a sense of optimism and hope for the summer months. Some of the flowers are small and petite, whilst others stand out due to their size.

The birds soar overhead, gliding on the invisible currents. With nothing to compare them to, I can’t easily say how big they are, although I know one thing for certain. They are beautiful. They are incredible hunters, diving down through the air to capture their prey by surprise. Birds are used to symbolise many different things, but to me the only thing that birds symbolise is freedom. All wild birds are free to fly wherever they want to. Free to show off their wingspan, to me watching from below.
