Chapter 1- Catch up

I leaped off the bike and continued running down the block my lungs wanting to give out as I pushed forward I stopped cutting through a yard fixing my button-up shirt trying to brush my hair.

"Is it good???!" I would shout turning to Wrecker who would sit on his bike looking at me trying to hold in laughter. "Dude! WHAT!?!" I began to panic

"You look like a try-hard die it down." He stepped off walking towards me fixing my collar and unbuttoning a couple of buttons.
"Wait that's too revealing!"

"JIO...shut up you're talking to me..just be cool dummy." Wrecker reassured I took a deep breath as he backed away from the porch giving me a thumbs up I motioned him to leave as I knocked on the door. It began to feel like ages as I started to think maybe they didn't hear should I knock again? I raised my first to knock once more but she beat me to it.
"Jovonni I'm guessing?" Miss dark would smile I softly gave a nod "its really nice to finally meet you ma'am.." I lightly smiled as she opened the door "The same for you to I'm glad you could make it I hope you're ok with meat I made roasted chicken are you vegan?" She asked I slightly laughed and shook my head "No I'm not, it sounds great." I let out she smiled wider laughing as I stepped into the living room, "Dinner will be done soon just wait here, EMILY HES HERE!" She would call out I waited looking at the news channel and sighed soon I heard footsteps from the top stairs, There she was coming down wearing jeans and a neatly tucked Black T-shirt her hair down to her mid-back I couldn't help but to stair a soft grin appearing on my face, I still couldn't believe it I've been dating her for four months giving on five now how could someone like me end up with her. It was pure happiness in my heart every day, As she stepped down she smiled lightly "I was worried you'd give yourself a heart attack coming here." She smiled jokingly I slightly smiled "Nah...I don't know why you were worried about your mom she seems really nice."

"Oh trust me...wait and you'll see."

"Guys dinners done!" She shouted excitingly Emily and I walked into the dining room as I stood in shock "Hope you brought an extra stomach!"

"Bruh..." Emily would say disappointedly as out on the table would a feast of food her mom smiling and sitting down I cracked a smile trying not to laugh as Emily sat down I did as well. We all began eating and talking,

"So what does your mom do?" She asked

"Medical field...she's a nurse." I continued eating.

"Isn't that something see Emily nursing makes good money too." She would turn to Emily who would stare at her expressionless slowly stabbing her fork into her piece of chicken.
"And your dad?"

"He invested in a pre started company he works with his old friend now in metal manufacturing."

"Interesting." She smiled I nodded continuing to eat. Soon it got quiet Emily smiles at me continuing to drink from her cup I continued eating as well.

"You two had sex yet?" She asked smiling I began to choke on the food as Emily spit out her drink "MOM!!"

"Whaaat its ok I'm not upset I'm just asking you know I'm not stupid." She looked at Emily I continued trying to drink my juice a bit fast to help my throat. "What the-." I was cut off with another cough as I couldn't speak, "Are you guys at least safe about it?"

"STOPPPPP." Emily would let out I would continuously begin to drink avoiding eye contact with her mom. Soon dinner was over and Emily rolled her eyes "were gonna go out I'll be back in a bit ok?" Her mom would agree as Emily would take my hand and pull me out the house both of us on the walk to my house laughing "Yo you got a cool ass mom though." I said walking down the street.

"Cool? No annoying yeah that's something I'd go with, Hows your mom?"

"Excited to meet you when her next day off is going to happen she wants to plan to do something." I chuckled Emily smiled "that's cute and Jason?"

"Doesn't believe you're real." I let out she would begin to laugh "He probably thinks your either gay or too much of a loser."

"I know he thinks equally to BOTH those options." I chuckled as I opened the door both of us stepping inside, "when are they coming back?"

"My mom around 11 and Jason I don't even know." She smiled jumping onto my bed turning on the tv grabbing my Xbox controller "How's Kat been doing?" She asked slipping in Modern warfare 2 I would grab mine and sit next to her "She's been great I make sure she doesn't spend to much time at HQ but you know how Kat is a workaholic."

"She needs a boyfriend."

"Yeah, I wouldn't exactly fight that with anything." We would both start to play free for all with each other, Me trying my best to beat the ever-loving shit out of her but Emily obviously been practicing would keep a good score against me "anything on mel yet?"

"Nah..haven't heard shit he's probably still recovering and nothing on vigilante buddy meters yet."

"Not even kain?"

"A while back heard he ran into some trouble at Maxxton but it's been quiet." Emily would flashbang me and kill me I would twitch
"Bruh...you flash banged me...." I let out annoyed Emily would laugh "Yeah I know."

"That's so CHEAP!" She would do it again and again until I tossed my controller away smacking hers she would laugh continuing to try on killing me "Give me the controller bruh!" I said chuckling soon both of us fighting for it Emily would throw me off and began kissing me she would get on top kissing me more as we would throw the controller to the side, Soon we would stop laughing as she would lay next to me resting her head on my chest as we looked at the X poster on my wall.

"Do you miss being him?" She would softly let out as I would cuddle her tightly next to me
"Not really ...I like it like this...honestly.." I lightly smiled looking at her as she smiled
"I do to.." I lightly sighed "I was thinking..when we do go back how about KillerX works with a new sidekick?"

"Huh?" I raised my eyebrow

"What if I can help you out there we'd get the work done together and plus twice as fast."

"Em...I'm not so sure about that."

"Why's that?" She asked jerking her head up at me.

"Things are different out there now..Em..cops are literally shooting at us..." before I could finish Emily sat up cutting me off
"You know I'm more capable of handling myself." I rolled my eyes sitting up as well
"We've literally had this conversation before Emily why do you keep trying to bring it up."

"Because I wanna be there to help you I don't want you hurt neither JIO."

"And I don't know if I'd be able to live with myself if I got someone close to me killed I'd probably lose it Emily if god forbid it'd be YOU..." I sighed "I can't .." I rested back down, resting my head Emily sighed "You can't lose me jio I don't plan on dying anytime soon..but as long as your out there that's where I wanna be right next to you whether you like it or not."
She looked at me I shook my head giving up as she smiled "I hate you too."

"You're annoying." I hissed Emily giggled kissing my cheek, laying next to me she looked at her phone "I'll have to go soon but you wanna come over tomorrow after I get out the mall with my mom?"

"Yeah I'm down I got nothing better to be why you guys going to the mall for?"

"My mom feels like we don't spend enough time so I told her I'll hang out with her for a while." We began to lay there talking and telling jokes while watching tv and cuddling.
