I stepped inside of HQ hanging my head as I tossed my helmet onto the couch letting out a defeated sigh, There sat Wrecker on the table a large gash on his forehead as Kat continued patching it up. "Did you get the bomb..." I let out softly Wrecker stopped Kat standing up
Turning on the monitor changing it to the live news which talked about bombings in maple
"12 injured ...and what the fuck were you doing?" Wrecker looked at me

"Wreck...just chill.."

"I barely got to it in god damn time and you mean to tell me you HAD THE TECH TO CATCH IT?? But no you left for what?!"

"To save my mom..." I looked down Wrecker and Kat stood silent for a moment "I panicked okay?...is that what you want from me?..he knows me...he knows who KillerX is someone told him...he knew my mom's name..even the very damn car she drives..." I looked back down before I knew it my phone rang from Jason, Kat went to say something but I gestured both of them to be silent as I answered "...Hello?" I spoke softly despite my nerves being on edge at the moment.

"Jio...um, where are you?"

"I'm at Emily's why what's up?"

"Okay um I don't want you to be alarmed but there was an accident with your mother.." Jason Warned I already knew but I had to sell it I started breathing heavily "accident?! I-is she alright?"

"Yeah, kiddo she's fine thankfully alright..I need you to come home..okay?"

"I'm on my way.." I hung up sighing

"What did he say?.." Kat questioned I slowly looked at her and pointed at the monitor
"Find him...use oracle do whatever you have to do..find him.."

"Jio he was able to ghost you in the building it's not gonna be easy.."

"I don't care Kat..turn over every goddamn stone if you have to!...just .." I took a deep breath then exhaled "just find him...please.." I began removing my armor and ran straight home.

I stepped on the porch and cops were already there I rushed inside "mom?! Mom!" I shouted rushing into the living room where Owens and a couple of other officers she sat on the couch heavily bandaged around her torso I sighed hugging her tightly as she hugged back
"I'm alright sweetheart it's okay."

"What happened??" Tears slowly began falling out of my eyes as she began to pet my head
"These officers believe that this could be a connection to the bombing in maple center park but they're not sure fully..it was like I had a guardian angel protecting me."

"Don't worry kid she's just gonna have a nasty scar and hell of a story to tell.." Owens gripped my shoulder I turned to him "there was a bombing in the Central Park?"

"You don't catch the news often do you kid.." he looked down at me I slowly shook my head
"You know kids always worried about video games." My mom smiled

"Well we took enough of your time..well keep you posted alright?"

"Thank you, detective."

"Just doing my duty." He smiled before heading out, that whole night I sat with my mom and Jason talking and watching the news but I still couldn't get one thing off my mind was howd he know...it made no sense was I being watched the whole time..was I being watched now still? I'd be lying if I said this one itch didn't bother me the remainder of the night even when going to bed.

I woke up for school got ready and headed out I continued my thinking while at school and I started to get a doubt in my head, the thought honestly struck me with disappointment and hurt I better have been wrong but I had to know I stormed over to Emily She closed her locker turning towards me, "hey handsome I was thinking you, me and some ride aid candy tonight at Zombie night 4?"

"You talked to Red behind my back didn't you.." I looked at her Emily looked to the right then back at me "Jio..I-"

"No bullshit straight up truth now.." I twitched

"Yeah...I did.." She looked down

"What the hell Emily! I specifically said No!"

"Hey you weren't being fair you know that I told you I could talk to him but you and Mel caught a fit."

"So what not only go behind our backs you gave him everything about me!?"

"What no! Your name slipped yes but I didn't give him anything Jio I promise look if you really listened to him you'd know you he's only killed people who deserved it."

"People who deserved it?! Listen to him do you hear yourself??"

"He hasn't..."

"He hasn't?! Explain that to my fucking mother or the 12 citizens hospitalized because of him! Or the guards he killed because I bet they needed it right!!"

"...I didn't know he went after your mom jio.."

"You're blindsided because he's "family" worst of all you put everyone at HQ and their families at risk without thinking what effects it could have and it doesn't matter if they deserved killing your letting him go about it the wrong way...he's just as criminal as the people he's killed."

"Oh but it's okay if Mel and Wrecker get a free pass? Your logic is bullshit sometimes jio."

"You're not gonna talk to him anymore and I want his hideout.."

"I don't know his hideout we met up at a meet point..."

"You better not be lying to me Emily I swear.."

"I'm not lying your the one banning me from seeing him."

"No shit! Why!?" I pulled my shirt down revealing the now fading bruises from my neck
"That's why! Those people he hurt that's why! Your letting him cloud your judgment think Emily for once..."

"I am!"

"If you were this WOULDNT even be a conversation!" I twitched

"Whatever ..." Emily Walked away pushing Kat out of her way as she stormed down the hall
"Well, she's a happy camper.." Kat said looking back at Emily then at me I slowly rolled my eyes "whats going on with you two?"

"I'll tell you on the way to math ...."
