Chapter 3- Nightshade

I stepped into the good old HQ music blasted as I walked down the stairs to see Kat a pencil in her mouth as she continued looking at a big screen, the place had been more improved I actually liked it the couches that once we're old and shredded were now replaced with new furnished all black ones a small wooden coffee table paced dead center from the couches, there was a new snack and drink machine and my dummy stand that held my Suit was gone, instead replaced glassed tube-like stands that had my costume, Emily's , and Even Mels RedX costume the once old wooden long table was replaced with a brand new all-glass table the surface covered in all this tech and gadgets.
"You really did her some justice huh?" I smiled folding my arms admiring the place kat turned around a wide smile on her face as if she saw Santa placing presents under her tree.

"I'm glad you actually made it...I feared you were gonna get cold feet."

"Nah you know I can't ditch you, besides.." I looked down for a moment briefly looking back up "you were right...I need to get back on the horse." I softly nodded as Kat smiled for a second walking over and giving me a tight hug
"I miss you jio I miss this you know the-"

"Please don't.." I interrupted

"X SQUAD!!" She cheered out loud I sighed of shame.

"Let's uh get to work ok?"

"Of course boss man."

"Alright, first things first you something about a suit?"

"Operation Nightshade yes it's a full grip tech suit you can control on your own command."

"Control?" I leaned against the wall Kat smiling and touching something on her iPad out popped a secret glass case from under the ground I stumbled back surprised as the panel sized tube rose, an all-black bulky suit stood proud and tall an X dead center.

"When did you get this??"

"I'm showing you a suit with beyond military technology and you mean to tell me you're fascinated by its case?"

"Well, I mean..how much time did you have down here exactly!?" I let out Kat avoided the question completely changing the subject back to the topic of the suit "As I said it's advanced I had enough time here to think back to certain events like the Battle in Lakewood how it came out of nowhere and as a hero you don't exactly have time to run to HQ while hundreds are injured or harmed."

"Ok..how does this change the game?"

"It's not like your other armor only covering important areas of your body you summon and control with these.." Kat grabbed my wrist both of them placing these white bracelets on each wrist. I examined them closely as a red and blue light began shinning, Kat opened the case

"I summon?"

"Yes, Jio meet your armor on the go ... its built-in tracker can be called for miles upon miles the farther you are from It the faster it will come flying. Try it call it to you."

"Kat I like that idea I do but wearing two bracelets all the time is a bit ridiculous don't you think?"

"You don't have to wear everywhere dummy but you can keep it on you at all times, pockets, backpack, etc..now time to summon." I sighed holding out my arm looking at the case nothing at first.

"Bruh..it's broken.."

"No, I've tried it multiple times you gotta focus jio." Kat let out I held my hand out again as I even put my mind to thought telling it to move as so the padded armored platings began to shake, my eyes widened in shock it was working but I couldn't let it slip now I squinted taking a deep breath soon plating began flying off the stand a tech like a glove transformed on my hand. Soon my face was attacked before I knew it I had some of the armor on the helmet completely locked and active on me, it felt like I was being punched as plating from behind me attached itself on my back and left leg. "It hurts!" I shouted I stumbled forward as another piece attached.
