A/N: I based this one-shot off of Queen Ava Max's song: Kings and Queens. You guys should definitely check it out, it is such a bop. She is one of my most idolized Artists, next to Melanie Martinez, Avril Lavigne, etc.
But this isn't a songfic, I'm not one for songfics or angst so I doubt I'd ever feature one in this book. Popular demand might change my mind but it won't do you any good.
Anyways, hope you're all doing swell and keeping yourselves all dolled up and shiny. Enjoy!
"My Queen, you're not dancing on your own."
---------------
You've always worked alone. You weren't interested in involving others into your life when unnecessary. This kind of demeanor didn't make you come off as stingy though, for the record, people even admired you for having such independence.
However, when one of your close acquaintances requested for your assistance in their practice matches, your whole concept began to crumble.
It all changed with a snap of his finger, Oikawa Tooru's.
"Only if you won't mind, (l/n)-San." Iwaizumi Hajime, a fellow third-year, says respectfully. You gave his request a thought for a moment.
You were already preoccupied with your own club activities and there wasn't much room for anything else, music was your sole passion after all.
But you figured helping out in other matters such as the Volleyball Club's would offer you some source of much-needed inspiration. Lately, you've had issues with composing, and that's not something you commonly suffer from.
Normally the song's lyrics would just come rushing out and onto your little memo-pad. But things have become quite complicated, unfortunately.
"Alright, I already know the fundamentals of Volleyball. Just tell me what I'm in charge of." You spoke briefly, bringing relief to paint over the Ace's usually stern facial attributes.
Iwaizumi smiled and patted your head, much to your dismay. "Thanks a bunch. Let me treat you to crepe after this." You smiled a little and gave a light nod before the two of you began making your way to the gymnasium.
"Isn't that (l/n)-San?" A voice murmured to her friend.
Another person gasped, "The musician? She's much prettier up close." She whispers in a daze. Her friend nods in agreement, "But why is she here? What business could--"
You blocked out the gossip, not that you intended to eavesdrop in the first place. Their voices were just too high-pitched for their own good. You recognized them as a fan-club, not sure of what sort, but you knew they were nothing but rioters.
"We're up against Karasuno today," Iwaizumi hands you a clipboard with a small stack of paper attached. "If you could tally the amount of blocks, kills, and service aces our team makes that'd be great." He explains further and you nod your head.
You looked to the other team and noticed the tension. There was one, short, orange-haired male that looked like he didn't belong to his team but you figured he was playing for a reason. He seemed on the verge of throwing up though, so you averted your gaze to avoid seeing an ugly seen unfold 'til it was too late.
