Rocky pov

Living in district 7 was alright. They made it so we had to pick 4 of us to fight, not 2, which is great!... Not... So anyways we all had to go the reaping that was mandatory.

So they started with females first. "Everest." They said in the microphone. WAIT! Everest?! No!!! Everest walked up to the place where you normally would... I just want to volunteer, i don't know why? Then they called the next female tribute. "Skye." They said.

Chase told me he liked Skye, so this might effect him a lot. Skye went to stand next to Everest. Then they went over to call the boys. "Kevin."

"I volunteer as tribute!" I said as i stood up. Everyone was quiet, just staring at me. I went to the place where the caller was and i sat at the boys section. "Up next is..."

"Chase." They said. Chase went to sit next to me. They then announced our names once again and they declared us as the 105th annual hunger games tributes.

We were taken to a train. "I can't believe we got picked!" Everest shouted. "In a good way or bad way?" Chase asked as we walked into the train. "Bad, of course!"

"I know right, this sucks." Skye commented. "What about you, Rocky, what do you feel about this bs?" Everest asked.

"Um... Uh. Terrible, i wish this never existed..." I told her. We took a seat and we saw our mentor, Max. "These are the pups this year?" He asked rudely. The caller who called us nodded.

Out mentor won the 100th hunger games. In the 100th they doubled the 48 tributes and made it 96 tributes, crazy! He won out of all 96 tributes, 8 were selected to fight to the death that year for each district.

Max laughed and asked. "How old are they?" The caller shrugged and Max looked at us, waiting for an answer. "I'm 16, she's 14, she's 15, and he's 17." I told him, referring to Skye then Everest and then Chase.

"I see, well one piece of advice i can give you is..." He stated as the train started to make it's move towards the capitol. We leaned in to hear what he said, since he was in the other side of the fancy looking living room.

"In the bloodbath, grab the one closest to you and then run, just run for your life. Afterwards look for water then food, water is your best friend from now on." Max said as i looked out the window in worry. Will we even escape the bloodbath? Would we be able to handle the careers?

"What are you four good at?" He asked us. Everyone looked over at me. "Well i'm good with an axe, i worked with my father on cutting trees. I can climb them well too, also i'm good with swords. But i can't swim, that's my weakness." I told everyone, being honest.

"Alright then, good, don't let anyone know you can't swim, they'll make sure you drown in the games at some point. Now you, young lady." He said, referring to Skye at the end. We looked at her now, she was more of a pup who's smart. "Well i'm not exactly a fighter, i'm a survivalist though. I can identify which berries are ok to eat, i can also do good with a bow. My weakness, i can't run very quick, i'm pretty slow."

"Ok, use a bow in the games if you can. Try practicing melee attacks and swords at the training portion of the games." Max said. "Now you?" He looked at Everest, and so did we.

"Well i can use an axe too, a strong swimmer as well. I'm not exactly the best at ranged weapons and i'm also a great hunter, i can easily kill animals." Everest said, honestly like me and Skye answered. "Ok, practice ranged weapons but let no one know you're a hunter, they'll follow you and then kill you." Max commented. He turned to Chase, who was ready to tell him, Chase was kind of nervous.

"Well i'm great with a spear, also throwing knifes, and swords. I can sniff out things real good, and from long distances. I'm not such a great hider or good with bows either." Chase said, as he looked at the window in the middle of his statement and then back at Max. "Alright, let no one know you're good at sniffing out pups, they'll agree to kill you first of many."

We all agreed with Max to do what we're supposed to do and what not to do. We were scared but yet pumped up at listening what we were good at. In someway, we were pretty much training for this.
