Claire walked out of her small kitchen apartment and into her living room, where Saoirse and Nat were sitting on the couch. After a few months of constant texting, Saoirse was finally able to visit New York and hang out with them. Currently, they were holding a girls night, beginning with a movie that Natalie and Claire picked.

Claire sat at the couch in between the two girls, already excited for the night ahead of them. Natalie was quick to lay her hair on Claire's shoulder -as per usual- while Saoirse giggled at the two.

"Alright girls," Saoirse said excitedly. "What movie are we watching?"

Natalie excitedly replied, "Well, we wanted to surprise you, so we're watching your movie, Ladybird."

"Surprise," Claire exclaimed.

Saoirse once again giggled at the two girls. "Well, I can't say I'm opposed to that. I'm excited to see your take on the film."

"Oh you'll love our feedback." Claire happily nodded. "We're very fun to watch movies with."

Natalie snorted. "Sure we are."

And with that, the movie began and the girls got situated with blankets and pillows.

As the movie went on, their position changed a bit. Natalie laid across Claire and Saoirse's lap, Saoirse rested her head on Claire's shoulder and an arm wrapped around her, while Claire leaned against Saoirse.

Eventually, they reached Kyle's band scene. For some reason, Claire found herself enjoying this scene in a different way. The rest of the movie was good, great even, but this scene struck her a different way. She found herself almost entranced as he bobbed his head along with the beat, really getting into the bass.

'He's hot, wow, he's so hot,' she thought to herself as she bit her lip. It only took her a moment to realize what she was doing, and how she was reacting. 'Stop that. Stop thinking like that.' She looked at Saoirse and Natalie, who didn't seem to notice.

The movie resumed and they reached the scene in which Ladybird found Danny kissing a boy in the bathroom stall, which Claire did not appreciate.

"Booo Danny," She cheered, earning laughter from Saoirse. "Ladybird is too good for you!"

"I bet he's a bottom," Natalie chimed in, causing Saoirse to completely burst out in laughter.

"Claire wasn't lying," She said between giggles. "You guys are fun to watch movies with."

"Damn right we are," Natalie replied with a wink.

As if Claire's earlier reaction to Kyle's scene wasn't enough to make her worry, she found herself even more... excited when he and Ladybird finally kissed. Something about him in this movie made her question her feelings.

"God I wish that were me," she mumbled, surprisingly loud enough for Natalie and Saoirse to hear.

Natalie's eyes widened as she choked out a laugh, immediately sitting up and turning to look at her as Saoirse reached for the remote and paused the movie

"Excuse me," Saoirse asked through stifled laughter.

"Nothing," Claire replied, blushing heavily. "It's nothing. Really."

Natalie positioned herself to face the two girls as she pointed at Claire. "Oh you're lying. I can tell."

"Whaaat? Me? Lying? Ha. No. Definitely not." Claire crossed her arms over her chest, shaking her head.

"Ooh I think she's got a crusssh," Saoirse sang teasingly.

"Pffffft, as if. Ha. Yeah right. Never. No way."

"You do. You like Timmy. I knew you would," Saoirse exclaimed.

Natalie leaned forward, excitedly pressing her hands together. "You do? Holy crap, I called it! I so called it!"

"No. No. That's not it. Not at all," Claire replies, adamant that they were exaggerating and she and Timothée were strictly friends. "I mean, I don't think so? I just think he's cool. And funny. And really kind. And humble, and sweet, and adorable and-" She paused as the two girls gave her a look. "Oh crap. I like Timmy."

"I knew it!" Nat's eyes lit up. "You have to tell him!"

"No-"

"You definitely should," Saoirse chimed in. "He'd be so happy!"

"Guys-"

"You'd be perfect together," Natalie enthusiastically announced.

"No, no way. I can't tell him," Claire interjected, her tone slightly upset.

"Why nott," Nat whined.

"I don't wanna ruin our friendship," Claire replies sadly. "There's no way he feels the same."

"Are you kidding," Saoirse asked. She leaned back and whispered to Natalie, "Is she kidding?"

"Saoirse, I love you but no. I'm being serious."

"Fine, Fine. We won't make you tell him," Saoirse reassured.

Natalie added, "But if you do tell him, we'll be here to support you. And if he rejects you-"

"Which he won't-" Saoirse interjected.

"We'll comfort you until you're ready to love again."

Claire calmingly smiled at her friends. "What would I ever do without you guys?"

"Honestly, I don't know. You need us," Saoirse teased.

"But-" Natalie laid her head on Claire's shoulder, "-we also need you."

"You're right, I do need you both. And thank you," Claire happily replied. "Now, back to the movie."

Throughout the rest of the film, Claire felt waves of anxiety sweep over her whenever Timothée was on screen. For now, she could deal with her feelings. But what would happen when they got to be too much to hold in?

What would happen if he didn't feel the same?

Okay also I just watched Little Women and like???? I'm genuinely so happy about it because I feel almost like Jo was made for me. She reminds me so so so so SO much of myself in so many ways. I write about romance because I enjoy reading it but living it? Not for me. I never want to get married. It's the worst future for me. Seeing Jo, someone like me, was so wonderful and I wish I could thank Louisa May Alcott for that. Jo was like an extension of myself and it felt amazing.
