If you Google it, I'm sure there are pages and pages of how to become the teacher's pet. However most of the time it takes work and sometimes we just can't be bothered to actually try, so here are some tips/cheats (if you will) for becoming a favorite, or at least not being hated by your teacher.
Disclaimer: You can't really change your teacher's opinion of you if you've pissed them off enough.

1. Be attentive in class.
Try to avoid chatting with your friends that sit nearby, and if possible, move to a seat away from them! Avoid passing notes and give your teacher your full attention. Your eyes should be on them at all times, and it shows them that you are paying attention and willing to learn.
Correction: Do not get caught talking to friends. Make sure to look down at a book whilst talking (silently talking) so that it's not as obvious. Make sure to catch your teacher's eye a couple of times to give the illusion of you paying attention. No one passes notes anymore, either text them or play charades; I guarantee charades is way more fun.
2. Ask questions
When something is taught to you, and a doubt or question arises don't hesitate to ask.
Correction: Ask questions that give you an angle of reasoning to give the illusion of you being passionate about the subject.
Example:
2x = 4
What you say: "I don't get how x equals 2."
What you should say: " Wait, shouldn't x equal 8 because 2x4=8."
3. Correct the teacher.
Show them you are paying attention and have an understanding the subject.
Correction: Don't ever correct the teacher, as this can make them feel insulted and or defensive. I asked my mum, who's a teachers and she hates it.
4. Do your homework
Be prepared to work to show your dedication to your grade and education.
Correction: Make a smart friend and copy their homework. This lets you look smart without having to be smart.
How to tell if the teacher likes you
In the first week of having them as a teacher, see if they remember your name.
