It was a large scale wedding
Yet almost no one was there.
Her dress was laden with tattered lace,
Complete with broken pearls.
It was as if a smoky veil was cast over the world,
Unseen, yet present in the lives of many.
She unwillingly accepted the ring of agony,
And the flowers of the dead were placed in her hands.
