Alex's P.O.V
"So, what do you think mom?" I ask twirling for her the next evening, as I step into the living room.
"Oh Alex, you look beautiful." She says walking up to me and hugging me.
"Oh come on mom, this isn't the first time you've seen me in a dress." i say hugging her back.
"I know, but it's the first time I've seen you in such an elegant dress." She says giving me a once over again.
I was about to say something in protest but just as I'm about to open my mouth Holden cuts me off as he walks down the stairs.
"Alex, it doesn't matter if we've seen you in a dress before but every time we do it still looks different on you. On the other hand, you look beautiful sister." He says smiling at me as he stands by my side.
"Thanks bro." I say grinning back at him.
Just then I hear a knock at the door. I'm about to go open the door but I remember I forgot my dagger on my dressing table.
"Uh mom could you get that please, it's probably Jace come to pick us up. I just have to get something from upstairs." I say and not waiting for a response I dash upstairs, surprisingly this dress was pretty comfortable and easy to run in.
As i pick up my dagger from my dressing table I hear the sounds of distant chatter from downstairs indicating that Jace had come inside. I quickly grab my scabbard which i use to hold my dagger from my belt and strap it to my thigh under my dress. I make sure it's secure before heading downstairs.
"Ah and at last Alex arri-" Jace starts but stops as soon as he sees me, his expression completely shocked.
At seeing his face I couldn't help but burst out laughing.
"Yo-you... Should see..... Your face." I wheeze out between laughs.
That seemed to break him out of his shock.
"Ah I see the dress hasn't changed you one bit Alex." Jace says shaking his head and rolling his eyes a smile playing on his features.
"Nothing could do that Jace." I say smirking and finally walking down the few remaining steps to the entry hall where they were standing.
"So, let's head out?" I ask raising my eyebrows.
"Yeah sure. We'll reach exactly on time." Jace says glancing at his watch.
"See you later, Mrs. Harlow." he adds giving my mom a hug and moving out to his car.
"Bye mom." Holden says soon after hugging her and heads towards Jace's car.
