I think you end up doing the stuff

you were supposed to do

at the time you were supposed to do it.

Alex's P.O.V

The bag on my shoulders felt heavier than it should, the further I walked away from my house. Although I wanted to, I never turned back once, knowing if I did I wouldn't have the strength to leave.

Reaching the lake, I climb up the Angel Oak tree so I could watch the sunrise. Reaching the highest point of the tree I looked out to the horizon. I watched as the stars slowly faded from the sky and the ink blue sky started getting lighter till it was a soft blend of orange and pink.

"Hey.", I suddenly heard from behind me.

Not wanting to miss a moment of the sunrise I don't turn around.

"Hey, how did you know I would be up here?", I ask my eyes still fixed on the horizon.

I feel him shift slightly until he is sitting beside me.

"I just had a feeling.", he says.

I glance at him quickly to see his eyes fixed on the horizon as well. Looking back at the horizon again I stare in awe as the sky gets lighter and lighter. We both sit in silence just enjoying the moment.

"It's beautiful isn't it?", I ask softly my eyes fixed on the horizon.

"Very.", he replies in almost a whisper.

When the pink of the sky had completely faded I knew it was time for us to leave. I take one final look at the entire forest around me and silently say goodbye.

"We should get going.", I say almost reluctantly, getting up.

I grab my bag from the branch where I left it and we both start climbing down the tree. I think he sensed my reluctnace at leaving because the entire way down the tree and to his car he let me enjoy the silence all around us.

About 10 minutes into the drive I couldn't take the silence anymore, it was't awkward or anything but I didn't have anything to do and I was not the most patient person.

"Do you have a CD or something?", I say turning to look at him.

"Yeah, there are a few in the glove compartment.", he says glancing at me through the corner of his eye.

Opening the glove compartment I grab all the CD covers and place them on my lap.

"Oh, I love this artist", I say popping the CD into it's slot.

"Really?", he says shooting me a look as soon as the song starts.

"Hey, You're the one that has the CD.", I say smirking.

"I just keep it there for my friend.", he mumbles his cheeks turning a light pink.

"Sure you do Nate.", I say smirking.

As the songs played I stared out the window admiring the view. No one from any of the sectors had seen this part of the forest, unless you were part of the army of course. But let me tell you they were missing out on something extremely beautiful.
