When Aizawa looked at the time later than day, it read 7am and that meant having to get up and deal with children.
Dragging his body out of his yellow nest, he made his way to the staff kitchen and made himself a gallon of black coffee with extra sugar.
Filling 7 cups from his gallon, he drank them to wake himself up before pouring his 8th cup to bring to the staff room.
Sitting at his desk, he looked through the files for the day and saw a notification on the side.
Opening it, he read something that made him groan inwards.
The class problem child was seen jumping off a train roof before disappearing into a stack of houses.
He got his stuff up and made his way upstairs towards the child's room, only to find the door wide open and the class shark panicking inside.
"Kirishima, where is he?" Aizawa asked as he glared around the room, it was too early for any of this but one of his children was missing and he needed to find him.
"Sir I don't know, he was here last night I think? We didn't walk back with him from- nevermind that. But I definitely heard him brushing his teeth yesterday." Kirishima answered whilst getting more and more nervous. Mr Aizawa was never seen this early in the morning, where was his bro?
He thought before remembering that he met Izuku yesterday and Bakugou wasn't there when he said he might have...
"SIR I THINK HE'S AT THE HOSPITAL" Kirishima yelled as panic took over. If he was right, something must've happened to Izuku.
He quickly explained yesterday's events to his teacher and Mr Aizawa called off all of that day's schedule. The rest of the class would be handled by the other teachers while he and the trio from the Bakusquad went to the hospital.
Visitor times started at 11am and Bakugou paced in the waiting room at 8am.
Inko was there too trying to explain who they were to a new receptionist who didn't know they were both VIP and had access to the rooms that Izuku was in.
It was already 9am when the fuss was sorted and Bakugou rushes into the hospital room.
He opened the door to Izuku's room he saw a pale boy with lifeless eyes.
"H..hey Kacchan..." Izuku said giving Bakugou an almost robotic smile."De.... Izuku..." Bakugou sobbed.
"I was told just now, I'm guessing mum told you..." Deku said not smiling anymore.
"I don't understand why the world does this to me," he said softly, tears forming in his large emerald eyes.
"Right when I make friends for the first time, I'm about to die.... right when these new friends gave me hope... Just why?" Izuku shuddered and began to sob.
Inko couldn't take it and ran to Izuku, gently hugging him to avoid crushing her son. Bakugou stood there not moving as his mind spun.
"When?"
The cold wind of that late November morning blew and Bakugou stood there motionless as what he was told refused to sink in.
The date was the 31st of December.
Izuku had a just over a month...
The somber mood crushed them and no one knew what to do. Silence hung over them and it suffocated them until,
"I THINK THEY'RE IN THIS ROOM SIR!!!!"
A mass of gravity defying red hair popped through the now open door and a sharky smile greeted them as a dead looking man followed close behind. The scruffy man looked into the room noting the crying woman who was gently clinging onto a fragile looking frail boy, clutching the hands of the class fire cracker.
His expression softened slightly as he quietly spoke up.
"Bakugou, you were not in your room or school today. Next time, at least inform me that you are leaving? I'm literally always awake even if you come at 5am I'm still awake."He sighed as he opened the bag he had in arms and threw the contents at the blonde. He already expected the boy to be in his pajamas so he had brought a random set of clothes he found in the boy's room.
Bakugou looked down at his pajamas and quickly changed in the bathroom next door before returning back.
The mood was down again and he figured that Mr Aizawa was now informed about Izuku. He watched as his teacher was unable to change the mood and strode towards the door grabbing the fold up wheelchair behind it.
Opening it, he put it in front of Izuku and put on a gentle smile, "let's get you some breakfast, I know I'm starving."
Izuku weakly smiled as he sat on his wheelchair and waited in the hospital cafeteria. He had his own quiet space but for once, he sat with everyone.
By sitting with Kirishima and Mr Aizawa, Izuku learnt that Bakugou was the class trouble maker but everyone relied on him without question. He also learnt that Bakugou is one of the only people without a hero name.
Izuku spent most of his morning laughing about the potential names for Bakugou with Kirishima and they ended up deciding that Angry Pomeranian was the funniest name.
Aizawa leant that Izuku dreamed to be a hero and couldn't because of his condition. Kirishima learnt that Bakugou was the only other person apart from Inko who'd visit Izuku and agreed to visit with the rest of the Bakusquad more often.
The last mouthful of katsudon was swallowed and the breakfast came to an end.
Mr Aizawa glanced at the two boys in front of his giving each other understanding glances and sighed. He took out his phone and walked outside telling Bakugou and Kirishima to follow once they said goodbye.
Kirishima held up a fist towards Izuku and had to explain what a fist bump was before getting a bump.
Bakugou gently ruffled Izuku's hair before saying bye and ran after his teacher with the promise to visit later.
