Thursday 21th
Looking at the date wasn't exactly easy for Izuku that morning. He didn't even know how to accept that fact his body was not strong enough to last more than 10 days.
Bakugou also seemed more agitated than ever when they finally stopped embracing every morning to leave for school.
He blushed as Bakugou had got a habit of resting his chin in his hair and just stay there. It was really cute and Izuku thought his ears would melt off whenever Bakugou spoke as his voice resonated and sent a chill down his spine.
But even so, he wasn't going to confess. Bakugou was only looking after him out of obligation after all. He knows that Bakugou got nightmares every night because of him but he couldn't do much about it. Instead, he would cuddle his crush hoping to remove even the littlest bit of pain. He wasn't going to be there for much longer but he sure was going to try to ease the suffering he caused.
Apparently during hero practice, Bakugou got told off for almost disintegrating another student calling them an extra before blasting them across the hall. Izuku gently wheeled himself along the corridor remembering the first time he came here and how he was like a rocket blasting from one side to another with Bakugou.
Completely lost on thought, he didn't notice that he had ended up wheeling right in front of Todoroki's door and only noticed when the bicoloured boy peered directly into Izuku's eyes.
"AAAHHHhhhhh?!?!?" Shrieked Izuku as he locked eyes. He was so busy thinking about Bakugou he freaked out.
Todoroki didn't react at all but instead, moved aside to let Izuku see his room. "Want something to drink?"
Izuku nodded before wheeling himself inside. It was a traditional Japanese room with tatami mats and a kotatsu in the middle. Todoroki helped Izuku off the wheelchair and gently placed him under the kotatsu where he snuggled against the warmth. It was nice even if the heater wasn't on.
Todoroki then placed a cup of green tea and some frozen mandarins in front of Izuku before joining him.
The sweet cold mandarin brought a smile to Izuku's face as conversation happily chattered around. That was until Izuku asked why Todoroki doesn't seem to use his fire side of his quirk.
Todoroki looked hurt before sighing, he might as well tell Izuku with the fact he only had a few days left anyway.
Then a small part of honesty came up and he admitted that it was his slightly childish way of challenging his father. He planned to just stop there, uncomfortable with exposing more and Izuku happily smiled and didn't pry for more.
"You know Todoroki? I'm quirkless so I'm a little jealous that you have two quirks. I've always wanted to be a hero but I have the worst luck you see?"
Todoroki looked down, he felt a little sad because he's there rejecting his second quirk while Izuku struggled with none.
Seeing this, Izuku placed a cold hand into Todoroki's and smiled. "It's okay Todoroki. I'm not upset about this and neither should you. You should look at the positives instead. It's your quirk, so it's your power. It doesn't belong to anyone else. I've seen your ice already and I know that you practice to be the best hero you can. I know this because Kacchan does the same. You want to be a hero too don't you?"
Todoroki blinked as the words he never heard came so easily from Izuku's mouth and inside, he smiled.
They chattered about heroes and how much they loved All Might before Todoroki casually mentioned their heroics teacher was All Might...
"WAHHHH??????"Izuku gasped as he heard this. All Might was their heroics teacher???
Since he's only attended two of their heroics classes with one being the USJ trip and he passed out once he helped Aizawa, and the other being Cementos's class where he gave everyone treats. He's never seen All Might and the shock make his jump at Todoroki clinging onto his arm begging for more information about his favourite hero.
At that moment, Bakugou had finished his talk with the teachers and saw Izuku in Todoroki's arms.
To Bakugou, the sight made him confused. He was fine when Izuku sat in Koda's lap and was fine when Izuku even cuddled Mina and the others but...it hurt him to see Izuku cuddle Todoroki.
He wad confused and angry at the same but he didn't say anything. Instead he stomped off towards his room.
That night, Izuku and Bakugou didn't cuddle, in fact, Bakugou spread a futon on the floor and slept there.
Friday 22th
By the time Izuku woke up from almost no sleep, Bakugou had left for school. It really hurt and he was sad for not knowing what to do.
He ended up at the staffroom as he didn't want to attend the lessons and ended up just sitting on the sofa with a cup of hot chocolate listening to the rain.
The sounds reminded him of his talks with Bakugou about the ocean and he wondered if he could ever set eyes on the beautiful waters.
The sound lulled him into a sleep easily as he only caught about 2 hours the night before where he dreamed of being in the cold ocean water. With his fragile body, he was floating with the tides and his body slowly melted into the waves... It was dark, and quiet, and he started to disappear alone...
His body seemed to float up and he swung side to side. Opening his large green eyes, he was back in Bakugou's room with the blonde bomb casually sitting on the bed beside him.
"....sorry"
The small mutter left Bakugou's lips and Izuku blushed and pulled the covers to his face.
"N-n-no...it okay...it j-just hurt a little w-when you ignored m-me..."
The stutter made him blush bright red and Bakugou sighed in relief before coming closer, arms outstretched for a hug.
Izuku smiled at the sight before leaning into Bakugou's chest, accepting the hug and letting warmth fill him.
They didn't really say much else after that but it was comfortable again.
It was warm.
