"You're quirkless."
That's something no one, let alone a young boy, would want to hear. Yet sadly, that's what was said to Izuku Midoriya who always wanted to be a hero. But in this day and age, you just couldn't be a hero without a quirk.
That's what everyone says anyways, but Izuku still tried his best to be a hero. He tried to breathe fire like his dad, and tried to move small objects like his mum but it was no use. No matter how hard he tried, nothing worked. But he didn't want to give up.
But still at the early age of 5, the year after he was told he couldn't be a hero, Izuku Midoriya collapsed into the floor and was rushed to the doctors who diagnosed him with an unknown genetic mutation. His bones were also becoming more and more soft and jelly-like. Pressure would cause them to liquify and mush into itself when he moved too much. His body crumpled in multiple places and he had to receive many expensive surgeries to keep his body alive.
He was to be treated for the rest of his life like this, so at the age of 5, Izuku Midoriya half moved into the hospital. He was homeschooled and had to permanently give up his dream to be a hero.
He was in his middle school years and his only friend was the one from his babyhood, a blonde boy called Katsuki Bakugou who he called Kacchan.
But back then, Bakugou didn't know what Izuku was going through. He believed that his only babyhood friend looked down on him and didn't want to be near him. Resorting to physical and verbal abuse, he protected his pride by taking it out on the younger boy to the point that no child should go through.
But the two still get along now as the bullying stopped after the incident.
Bakugou came in first for the UA entrance exam which didn't surprise Izuku. And with that, their promise was complete but Bakugou still regularly visited Izuku at his hospital home.
Before, it was his obligation to visit Izuku but now...he knew that Izuku had long forgiven him for his mistake but still.... Even if he completed their promise and got into UA... he just felt like he needed to be there for Izuku. Even if they weren't "friends" anymore.
At this moment, Izuku Midoriya is laying in bed looking out of his window when suddenly, a short, green haired woman walked into his room. "Izuku it's time for your next surgery." The green haired woman said as she unfolded a wheelchair.
"Alright mum." the boy with freckles answered, gently pulling out all the drips connected to his arm with too much precision and accuracy for it to be normal.
"Oh, Katsuki is coming to visit you after school." Izuku's mum, Inko, added while smiling at her son. "Really?!" He exclaimed, eyes wide with happiness, voice bubbling with joy.
"Izuku! lower your voice." Inko whispered chuckling gently. "Oh I'm sorry mum, it's just that Kacchan hasn't come to see me in a while." Midoriya explained as he lowered himself slowly onto the wheelchair.
"It's only been a month since he started UA." Inko giggled. "ONLY!?" Izuku exclaimed as he got wheeled toward the surgical room.
"It's been a week I last saw him already! Did you know he won the sports festival? Oh yeah, I haven't stopped talking about it....oh I miss Kacchan!!!"
"Well Katsuki will be here soon." Inko stated from behind him as she stopped by the door and watched as her son was taken away inside for yet another surgery.
"Okay!" Izuku said with an excited tone as the doors closed.
As soon as Inko saw Izuku disappear into the surgical room, tears rolled down her face and she broke down crying by the door.
Inko was crying because she knew that her son wouldn't have long to live. Even with all the surgeries she's been paying for him, they only hold him together for a few days more.
Izuku Midoriya will die no matter what and she knows it. Izuku is her only family left ever since her husband disappeared when a villain attacked his work and she doesn't want to loose her son too.
That is why Inko is making Izuku's life as enjoyable as she can make it before all time is up.
The time that was given to her earlier that day.

"HOW THE FUCK DO YOU DO THIS!!!" An explosive boy yells while looking at a math problem. "Bakugou I'm trying to explain but you're not listening." a boy with red spiky hair replies calmly. "YOU'RE JUST NOT EXPLAINING IT WELL!!" The blonde shouted while braking his pencil in half with his fingers. "It doesn't matter anyway, I have to go now." Bakugou sighed grabbing his stuff and got ready to go.
"What, where are you going?" The crimson boy, Kirishima asked. "I have to go fucking see someone." Bakugou spat as he started to stomp away.
"Oooooo are they a girl." A bright pink alien stuck her head through the door asked. "It's probably his girlfriend." A humanoid Pikachu added popping his head out underneath the pink girl's.
"FIRST OF ALL, HE'S NOT A FUCKING GIRL AND SECOND OF ALL, HE'S NOT MY GIRLFRIEND!!!" Bakugou yelled. "Alright jeez." sighed the pink girl and Pikachu boi. "But can we meet this mystery boy?" The alien girl bounced.
"Mina!" Exclaimed Kirishima while knocking her with his shoulder and sending a look of questioned understanding to the exploding teen.
"No, it's okay shitty hair. I might as well let these idiots see him." Bakugou grumbled as he started to saunter off. He hasn't seen Izuku in a while and it might be a nice change in pace to see new faces.
He growls with annoyance but waited for the bumbling idiots to catch up.
He just hoped they won't scare Izuku.
