We both froze at the husky voice. Paulette's reaction was priceless, it scared me. Because she was the only one who's looking at something, and I believe that that person is standing directly behind me. Yet, I'm very unprepared to turn around.

"Who's the heartthrob?" the voice boomed by my ear that made me shiver rapidly.

I have spun around quickly and leaned against the back of my locker, an arm pushed itself against the locker behind me, right above my shoulder, but I continued to look at Paulette with a whole questioning look on my face.

But she was too stunned to tell me what was going on.

"Leave us alone, and don't tell anyone about this," the voice said.

Paulette nodded, looking at me apologetically before she speeded away.

I just had to be the one left behind.

I finally looked up, and gosh, it was the hot topic of the year we were talking about.

Mr Norris.

"What do you want?" I asked, totally pissed off.

"Nothing much, just leaving off where we started," he shrugged.

"Which is?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Well, the last time you left me hanging, again," he reminded me.

"Sorry to burst your bubble but I wasn't in the mood to 'chat'," I beamed at him.

He was taken aback but quickly recovered, "Well, here we are now. I'm sure we have a lot to talk about."

"I don't think so," I rejected. "I didn't know bad boys were offended when people walk off during a conversation."

"And I didn't know any other girl like you would be disinterested."

"Well, I'm not 'any other girl'," I spat.

"Touché," he agreed. "You're something else."

I rolled my eyes, "You're ruining my day already. I don't even know you."

"Oh, but I believe you do," he smirked.

I stood silent, "What do you mean?"

"It isn't very nice of you to talk about me behind my back, you need my permission to do so," he went straight to the point.

"We don't do that here," I shake my head.

He scoffed, "You know Jax?"

Those words made my heart sink within seconds, I was mentally freaking out inside, but I've decided to act calm on the outside to avoid any more conflicts.

"Why would you want to know?" I looked at him, sounding disturbed.

"Well, you both seemed oddly comfortable talking back in Bio," he brought up.

Right, I forgot he sat behind me in Bio.

"Does that bother you?" I asked, gaining a little confidence in this.

"No, but let me tell you, Jax is not what you think he is," he warned.

"Like I would just listen to a stranger I've just met," I crossed my arms.

"It's better if I give you a heads up before things happen," he said, making a point.

"We're just friends," I lied through gritted teeth. "It's not like I'd fall for him."

"I didn't say you would. But if you did, I'd be surprised," he chuckled.

Like how I'm surprised thousands of girls would fall for you.

"Okay, thanks for the 'chat', I guess, if you'll excuse me," I pushed him aside. "I'll be on my way."

I started walking away from him, and I could sense the feeling that he's watching me from behind. But that won't let me turn around to make sure, that's just ridiculous. Not long after, I passed by the female restroom and ended up locking myself in a stall to process the whole conversation I had.

"What a freak show," I sighed.

"That's it for today's class, tomorrow, we'll be looking further into graphs and diagrams. So, make sure you guys look at pages 14-17 for a heads up of our lesson tomorrow."

I stood up and walked out of the classroom.

School finally ended and I am very looking forward to completing all my work on my bed after I stopped by Starbucks for some daily afternoon coffee time. But first, I need to grab my bag and my stuff by my locker before I set off home.

I hear my phone ringing, my ride's already here.

I scooted past the cramped hallways and shoved my notes and books before zipping it up, I threw my bag onto my shoulder and shut my locker. Unfortunately, Hunter had been waiting for me for who knows how long. I was slightly startled but soon ended up pissing at him to leave me alone.

"What? You can't arrange another 5 minutes talk before you go?" he questioned, sounding a little sarcastic.

I looked at the time on my phone, "Hmm, maybe I would. But I wouldn't," and started walking away from him.

For once, I feel confident going against the 'bad boy' almost everyone's talking about. And this time, I feel glad that the hallways are packed enough because all I need to do is to squeeze through people, so Hunter won't be able to go after me that easily.

I am my advantage.

Somehow a little gut feeling made me turn around, and I was glad I did. Because apparently, the whole crowd had formed a path for Hunter to walk. Talking about that much respect for one jerk. I ran out of the building and slammed myself into my car door.

With myself mentally praying that he won't follow me, the car moved, and I could see Hunter who just got out, looking at me with a smirk. More chills run down my spine. But I didn't make a sound about it.

In the next 10 minutes, I've reached my first stop, the only thing that could ever make my day slightly and hopefully better; Starbucks. I left my things in the car and took out my phone and wallet with me inside.

During this time of the day, working hours are often packed with people and college students or any type of group friends who had decided to meet up and hang out or work on their projects. Though, it's only the first day of the week.

I went to queue up, it wasn't a long line but enough for me to decide what I should have for today. It's honestly not necessary to point out, but I've already tried almost everything on the menu.

Coffee is just my absolute go-to.

"Hi, welcome back to Starbucks, Blair. What would you like to have for today?" Olivia, one of the baristas who work here, asked me.

"Hi Olivia, I'll just go with anything that could cheer me up. Today's oddly crazy at school," I sighed.

"Oh right, the typical first day of school. But I've got you covered, your most favourite drink it is," she smiled and pulled out a cup to right down. "That would be $6.99."

I passed her a 10 dollar note and she keyed it into the cashier before handing me back the change. I stepped aside and took out my phone, checking my texts.

Unanticipatedly, an unknown number had texted me. I stood at the pick-up counter awkwardly standing, debating whether I should read the text.

"Hey."

I was stunned and instantly switched my phone off, "Hmm?" I turned to the sound of the voice.

My face dropped.

It was no one other than despicable Jax.
