Chanel left the Cole household early in the morning, trying to get a head start to beat the rush on campus. Soli made sure she was up when Chanel left and seeing her sister drive off made her feel...weird. She couldn't quite place her finger on it, but it made her think time was moving too fast, which it was. The departure was bittersweet, and Chanel was emotional to say the least. As she pulled off, Soli was reminded about, for a split second, the last time their mother had driven off.

Rue didn't wake out of her sleep until noon, and felt somewhat embarrassed she was still dressed in her party clothes from the night before. Soli slept next to her all night to make sure she'd be alright in the morning.

"Can I use some of your mouthwash?" Rue calls from the bathroom, R&B music playing on low volume in the background.

"Yeah sure. Check under the cabinet," she responds, grabbing her car keys off her desk as Rue asked her to drive her home. Rue groans as she exits the bathroom, throwing herself down on the bed, running her fingers through her hair.

"I feel like I've been ran over twice," Rue sighs, squeezing her eyes shut and rolling over onto her stomach.

"You know you can stay until you feel better, right?" Soli says while looking in her mirror, applying a single coat of lip gloss to her lips. She then smacks them together a few times, and wipes the excess off the edges with the tip of her finger, making sure the gloss is spread neatly and evenly.

"Nah. It's alright. My mom's gonna kill me. I never even texted her where I was. Plus, she's gonna drug test me." Rue drummed her fingers against her lips, blowing raspberries against them.

"Oh. You need pee?" Soli didn't want her friend to get into trouble, even though she and Rue both knew she should've stayed sober after rehab.

"Nah. I'll ask Lexi. You really looked out for me last night and I can't ask you for anything else." Rue rolls over again, off her stomach and onto her feet just as Soli slips on her shoes.

"Ready?" Soli asks while exiting her room, Rue following her out and down the steps. The girls attempt to fast-walk past the kitchen archway to avoid being stopped by Russel as Rue was embarrassed about her clothes.

"Rue?" Russel calls, and they suddenly stop in their tracks, making eye contact with each before reluctantly turning around and walking into view in the archway.

"Hey Mr. Cole. How are you doing?" She asks, crossing her arms over her chest, trying to make the conversation as brief as possible. On a normal day she enjoyed having conversation with him but today just wasn't one of those days.
