Soli feigned surprise when she found Rue standing by her car, dropping her jaw before they both erupt with laughter.

"Rue Bennett? Is that you?" She exclaims, opening her arms wide before embracing her friend.

"Shut up," she responds with a small laugh, getting inside the car when Soli unlocks the door. Rue had texted her after the end of the last period, asking her if she could take her to Fezco's as Jules wasn't available to hang out.

"You only use me, Ruey dearest," Soli says as she starts the car and pulls off, heading towards Fezco's house.

"I had a bad fucking day, Soli," Rue murmurs after a few minutes of silence.

Her eyebrows crease in concern, glancing over at her friend. "What happened?"

"My stupid fucking teacher asked me to talk about my summer in front of my entire class. Summer was was weeks ago so I was just starting to move on. And then I walked out, and when Lexi came to check on me, I told her that she shouldn't. I feel so fucking bad. I mean, the look on her face..." Rue's voice trails off as she sighs, on the verge of tears.

Soli sympathetically smiles over to her friend, taking one hand off the steering wheel to hold her hand.

"You didn't mean it, Rue. You were just upset, and rightfully so. If I were you, I wouldn't be able to talk about what you went through with anyone, let alone the whole class."

Rue sighs again, leaning her cheek on her friend's arm. She flashes a small, thankful smile, and doesn't say a word for the rest of the drive.

"So you're trying to buy drugs?" Soli asks carefully, pulling into the parking lot of the convenience store owned by Fezco.

"Maybe just a little," she responds, clicking off her seatbelt.

"I thought you were gonna stop, Rue," Soli murmurs, trying her best to not make her upset.

"I will. I'm trying. It's just gonna take time," she says, and doesn't give Soli as chance to respond before she climbs out of the car, shutting the door behind her. Soli couldn't begin to understand what Rue was struggling with, but she didn't want her best friend to end up in rehab again. Or worse.

Outside, Rue wraps raps her knuckles on the window, shrugging and saying, "You coming?"

After taking a deep breath, she turns off and exits the car, walking next to Rue as they walk into the store and straight into the back, where, surprisingly, the door is shut.
