While walking, I saw that familliar park where I first met her.I'm quietly playing with my toy robot in my room when I overheard mom and dad fighting. Palagi silang nag-aaway about what mom called as 'dad's mistress'. I opened the door of my room but they did not notice.
"Maghiwalay nalang tayo kung lagi nalang ganto!" I heard mom said.
That triggered something inside me and I started to run outside, di ko na napigilang umiyak. Ni hindi nila ko napansin! They don't love me anymore!
When I got tired, I stopped and found myself in a park. Kids my age are playing around with their parents.
I don't have friends to play with but I am used to it. Other kids that I tried to befriend with are bullying me because they said I am ugly and weak.
I don't fight back because I know fighting is bad but why is mom and dad fighting? I felt myself sobbing once again.
I decided to sit on the bench but then, it started raining.
Everyone started to run to find shade but I stayed at where I am and cried once more. The rain makes me even more sad, I can't help but feel sad. I feel alone and no one wants to be with me. Even mom and dad wants to leave me.
"Bata! Bata! Bakit ka umiiyak?" I heard someone said. So I turned to look at that direction.
My eyes grew wide at the sight of a girl running towards me. She was laughing, not bothered by the rain. Her arms are wide open, as if feeling and enjoying the raindrops. I didn't notice that I stopped crying.
"Eto oh." She said while handing me a hanky. I looked at her hand, puzzled.
"Ay basa na pala hahahahaha! Yaan mo na bata, di naman halatang umiiyak ka! Tara! Laro nalang tayo oh! Ang saya saya! Umuulan woooohhhh!" She took my hand and forced me to stand up.
She started jumping as the rain grow stronger. I am just standing by her side, not moving, not even knowing what to say.
"Uy! Di ka ba happy? Ang saya magpaulan dibaaaa??" She leaned her head to see my reaction. I wiped my tears and smiled at her.
When the rain stopped, she sighed sadly. "Ay tapos na?" She even pouted while saying that. "Aww! Uwian na." She continued.
"Anong pangalan mo bata?" She asked me while we were walking home.
"Clyde." I said timidly. It's the first time someone played and talked to me without bullying me.
"Kakalipat lang namin dun oh." She pointed the house next to our house. "Ako si hope, at ikaw ang una kong kaibigan dito!" She smiled.
Like her name. I knew I found hope. Hope in the middle of chaos.
"Sus! Clyde! Clyde! Ang itatawag ko sayo ay Claudio!" She said to me mockingly. We were once again at the park. We became friends after that day.
"Okay Hopia!" I said that made her nose flare in anger. I started to run because she'll punch me for sure!
