Jenny and Will got up early the next morning. They both got dressed and went for a walk. Of course, they woke her mom up and told her. One night of kidnapping was enough for her. They walked up the street to the old cemetery. That was the one place you could always find them. Jenny liked to visit the graves of the people that lived in Detroit, Michigan before them. Will liked the quiet so he could talk to Jenny. They made their own spot they liked to go and talk. A few year back, they had cleared the ivy off an old bench under the cherry blossom trees, which made it that much more romantic, and made that their spot.
They went over to the bench and sat down. Jenny laid on Will. She was still tired from last night. They talked for a while when silence surrounded them. Suddenly, the warmth of the sun turned to cold that circled them as if they were it's only target. Jenny awakened from her nap to Will already standing. She stood up with him and looked around. A white fog was circling them as if trapping them. Jenny moved closer to Will, as if he would protect her from whatever was surrounding them. Then as they began to walk, a familiar voice struck Jenny to the point she was ready to collapse.
"Hey... Jenny. How are you?" Jenny shivered as she noticed a ghostly form appearing in front of them.
There stood Andrew. At least she thought it was Andrew. But how? He was shot and killed. Was this a ghost? What was he going to do to her? She grabbed Will's hand and started to walk.
"Jenny. What's going on?" Will said, his voice a little shaky.
"Will... I...that's... he's... that's a ghost. The ghost of my kidnapper. We need to run." Will didn't hesitate. They ran out of the graveyard and up the street.
Soon enough, they ran into their friends unintentionally. Kim and Jonas where friends of theirs. When Will and Jenny started dating, Kim and Jonas did. But nothing changed as far as their friendship. "What's up with y'all? You look like you just saw a ghost!" Kim laughed, but Jenny and Will didn't. Jenny and Kim had been friends for 11 years. They knew what every look they gave each other meant. Even the one Jenny made that meant she had bacon, eggs and toast for breakfast.
"Jenny?" Kim asked, a questioning tone to her voice.
"Oh my gosh! You actually saw a ghost?" Jonas and Will looked at each other.
They have known these girls as long as they've known each other and still didn't understand how they did that.
" Yeah and I have something else to tell you." Jenny looked scared to mention it, as if it could summon the ghost again.
"You were kidnapped last night by Andrew Grady. Twice. The second time he got you, you beat him up and got out of the car and ran through a neighborhood screaming for help when a man and a woman and a little girl saved your life by shooting him." Everyone, even Jenny, was shocked.
"How...how...how did you get all that from one look?" Will asked, still shocked. Kim laughed.
"No. I watched it on the news last night. Gosh people, I'm not that weird." everyone laughed and started walking.
"So this ghost... I assume it's this Andrew guy." said Jonas.
"Yeah. All he said though was 'Hey Jenny. How are you doing?' It was creepy." Jenny said, feeling better now that she was in public. Surely he wouldn't approach them in a crowd like this. Surprisingly, downtown Detroit was very full for a Saturday morning.
Before they knew it, they were half way across town. They walked to the lake to go swimming. They always wore something old to swim in when they went walking. Their walks always led to the lake. When they got there, they went into an old-looking shack. The walls were lined with lockers and over in the corner, sat a small wooden desk with a man behind it.
"Ah. My four favorite visitors. Your locker is always available. Go ahead." The group put their stuff in their reserved locker and Jenny texted her mom to let her know she wouldn't have her phone.
Only two things cleared Jenny's problems from her mind temporally, music and swimming with her friends. She was happy to go swimming. Luckily, it was summer so the water was warm. The group had their own spot everywhere they hung out at. Here, they had found a spot no one ever goes to with a big jungle-like vine they liked to swing on and jump off of. Kim went first her screams mumbled by the water. Then Jonas, who almost crushed Kim. Jenny and Will went together.
They hit the water, finally feeling released from reality. Everything was forgotten for now and everyone was happy. Jenny had never felt sadness or anger here before. Now, that changed. She noticed, sitting on a rock, was Andrew. She screamed and everyone looked at her a went to her. "
Jenny! What's wrong?" Will yelled before reaching her.
"He's... he's... he's..." she stuttered.
"What?" Will yelled.
"Who?"
"An...An...Andrew!" she screamed. Everyone looked over to see Andrew waving from his rock.
"Go away! I hate you!" Jenny yelled as if he'd listen. He came to the edge of the water and yelled back.
"I'll get you Jenny! You will pay!" and with that he disappeared.
