"Alpha stop pacing so much. You should be rejoicing and happy that its finally over with." Elora says on the stool at the island. I look at her with a shake of my head.
"I know your right but its hard to exactly be upbeat and feeling free when my mate upstairs has been basically in a sleep for the last few days because of her exhaustion. She did beautifully out there, better than I'd have expected and what any Alpha could have done. Not including me mind you. She's surpassed so many's expectations in that fight. She overcame so much to get to this point, to do what needed to be done for our people and everyone else Elora. Most Alpha's in her spot wouldn't have withstood what she's gone through and survive. Elora she's the only one who has filled my heart and shown me what its like to be loved truly. I can't stand watching her sleep in our bed without her waking up." I tell her trying not to yell or be annoyed at her. It isn't her fault. Its no ones fault.
I grab the back of a chair and grip it trying not to look at Elora in my haze of emotion. I clench my teeth as I try not to fidget. I'm failing miserably.
"Alpha your adorable." She says simply at me with a smile. I know she's only trying to be helpful but it isn't helping.
"That isn't going to be of help here. Adorable gets me no where." I tell her trying not to roll my eyes.
"I know. But we can all feel your anxiety about our Luna. Stop worrying ok. I know she's survived this. I know what she's gone though during that war with you. We could all feel it and how tired she was. She wanted to give up but didn't and pushed through her exhaustion to fight for us. Our pack and for you Alpha. She will get out of this. Her body fought so hard she didn't let her exhaustion take her until she knew it was safe to be able to rest. When she wakes up, I know you both will be able to feel the freedom that you got for us all. To be able to just be and have fun. You both deserve to just have a day to relax. But more then that when she wakes up, she will get to mourn properly for all that she has lost. She will need you there fully to help her through that. You know that." Elora says bluntly. I rest my head on the island a bit harder than I intended to do. I place my cheek on it, looking up at Elora.
"Ugh I know your right. Damnit. I wanted to just come home after it was all finished and be able to tell everyone its ok so they can all relax and enjoy. I wanted to just enjoy too without a care in the world. I know she will be fine." I say with a huff. She smiles easily watching me get worked up.
"Alpha you and our Luna saved all of us from the lunacy of a blood thirsty crazy person who wanted our heads mounted. You deserve a damn parade for what you've done. You both do. However, I think your wedding will be parade enough whenever you figure out your plans for that. We all are able to breath without worry now ok. We are all fine now. Just relax a bit ok. I'm going to go home. Take care of Luca he's a bit antsy just like you about our Luna. Go be with them. Be safe." She says with a look of unwavering truth.
"Be safe Elora ok. Whenever plans like that happen, I'm sure you will be involved ok. Just rest ok your going to pop soon enough." I say to her concerned that she shouldn't be up and about so much now.
"I will Alpha." She says with a smile and a wave. She leaves through the door as I wave back. She's perfect for our beta. She helped protect the children while we were out fighting. She cared for those that were sick as well when we came back. Shes amazing and Im glad she has Nick by her side. They compliment each other.
I head upstairs to my room. I see Luca pacing in front of our door, unsure of what he wants. He sees me approach him and his smile is sad. I hold my arms out and he hugs me tight. I hug him close and run my fingers through his hair to try and soothe him, like Rosie would do.
"Come on lets check on Rosie ok." I say to him. I know he wants to cry, but he's holding it together. He's trying to be strong for Rosie when he shouldn't be worrying so much. He is acting more like a teen or adult then a child of 8.
He nods his head and we go into my room. Rosie is still laying on the bed. The sheets are askew with her moving around restlessly. He climbs onto the bed and hugs her. His shoulders heave as he cries into her shoulder. I sit beside him and place my hand on her leg.
"Luca, I know its scary to see her like this but I promise she is going to be alright. She pushed passed her exhaustion point to protect us all. Her body got so tired that she just needs to rest to heal." I tell him in a soft voice.
"I know she did I could feel it. Its been a few days though. When is she going to wake up Alpha?" He asks looking up at me with his big brown eyes with tears streaking his cheeks.
"I know its hard to wait like this Luca. I'm hoping she wakes up soon because she needs to eat to help her heal ok. I'm sure she will wake up sooner then we know alright. I know she can feel us here and feel our love for her ok." I tell him with a smile.
"Elora says the same thing. Waiting is so hard to do." He says sulking as he leans into me.
"I know little man. But we have to until she wakes up." I tell him as I wrap an arm around him, trying to comfort him the best I can.
I do agree that waiting is the hardest thing in the world. Because of our tactics we got the drop on them and were able to restrain more then kill which was good. We had very minimal losses to us and our allies. There were some injuries but thankfully the Doc took care of them all and are healed. Even my own have healed, even if I have another scar from it. Thankfully most of the damage was towards the target.
I hold her hand, caressing the back of her hand. She is right about how she hadn't been eating enough. I mean I know she eats well its just she hasn't been in her wolf form for so long or ever for that long. So, she wasn't used to using so much energy. It scared me how tired she got at the end. We need to make sure that not only she eats more but Luca too because he will be using his wolf more soon enough when the other children start shifting too.
Thankfully the house is stocked to high heaven with food. So, eating more will not be an issue. Luca hasn't left her side once since shes been resting. Except when he sleeps or to eat but even than I have to almost drag him out to make sure he takes care of himself. I know he doesn't know everything about what happened but he's old enough to know he needs to rest and eat.
Rosie's hand shifts in mine. I look to her as she rolls onto her side, trying not to move too much. I smile as I look into her face. Her eyes are open finally and she's smiling back. Oh, thank god she's awake. I lift her hand to my mouth and kiss the back of her hand. Luca feels tension shift and sees her awake as well. He is so excited that he hugs her tight.
