Pick a card

Chapter 6

    Dinner was chatter filled, them telling Yuvraj's family the exiting things that had happened on there trip, then Willow telling them thing s about what happened while they were gone.  After dinner they sat around the living room playing Uno, a card game were everyone, even Yuvraj, had an equal chance of winning, though just in case they didn't let him do any shuffling.

    Willow had teamed up with Vanessa, the two of them, both opposites in personality, looks, and clothing, were both giving off the exact same devious grin.  Mr. and Mrs. Coral were sitting across from each other, apologizing ahead of time to the other for when they win, Crystal and Lotus were sitting next to each other, not saying anything but giving each other the stink eye, while Yuvraj watched all of them, cards still face down on the table while he waited for his turn.

    "Mom, I know you plan on defeating dad, but to do that everyone has to play, and for that to happen you have to take you turn and let the next person go."

    "Oh alright, Sorry Vanessa, but I'll have to skip you."

     "MOM, no fair.  Willow, make sure it's a good move."

    "I have a solution, it's red, and a reverse."

    "Thank you, you win a kiss."  She leaned over and gave her peck on the cheek, and her cheeks and ears under her short hair turned pink, "Now another thing, I'm sorry mother, but draw two."

    "Well then, Sorry Crystal, but with the power of adding on, I give you place another draw two, so draw four."

    "Nope, Lotus, draw six."

    "Come on, actually, Eight for you Yuvraj."

    Taking his cards from the table, he look at them, "Draw ten dad."

    They all waited as he scanned his hand, then glared at the laughing couple as he reached for the deck mumbling, "And here I was think it was a good thing to teach Willow how to play."

    Everyone burst out laughing, an finally after a while they put away the board games and while they picked out a movie, Yuvraj went to the kitchen.  Opening the fridge to obtain dessert, his phone started ringing, "Hello?"

    "Hey Yuvraj, it's Clyde."

    "Clyde, what's up this time, did Dan get forgotten as a fish and was left in a RV aquarium?"

     "No, well, one moment.  Hey you, go check the aquarium for Dan."  After a moment he turned his attention back to the phone, "It's the news, the police questioned the towns people, and the Circus got brought up."

    "Are they trying to find the Circus?"

    "No actually, but a private investigator is now involved, and has an even bigger reward out for information."

    "What about it."

    "Well, remember how your mother found you with that note about your biological family, well this investigator had your last name."

    There was a moment of silence as this was spoken, "What information did the news give?"

    "Well, he's apparently doing a pretty good job of what he's doing, but so far it seems that it's only Crystal he's looking for, but he's also asking if she was involved with anyone suspicious, luckily you aren't suspicious apparently.  There doesn't appear to be anyone saying your name."

     "Well, that's good, maybe this guys just someone random with the same last name, but till we find out otherwise, we should be good.  Well, I got a movie plans, so we'll continue talking later, bye."
