Pick a card

Chapter 10

    The next morning they were all waiting in the living room, everyone a tad on end.  Yuvraj said there were a few details he had to check over before they could do anything, and they were all waiting for him to arrive with his plan.

    Lotus was reaching for her coffee, when Yuvraj burst into the room, causing the door to collide with the wall and made her almost knock the mug onto the floor.

    They all sat in silence as he started working with the things he brought.  Setting aside a glass bottle, he walked over to the coffee table, picking up their mugs and glasses, handing them to there respected drinkers, then placed a map on the table  along threads, two black and two red, and each seaming to be made of different materials.

    "Willow, go fill this bucket with sand please."

    Grabbing it and heading out the glass sliding door, ran as fast as her legs could carry her, while Yuvraj started tying the cords together.  when he was done it he shooed away Vanessa and his parents from the table, then gestured for Crystal and her sisters to grab a cord.

    He gave a black glistening one to Crystal to hold, a red one that seemed to be kind of like whicker to Lotus, and a red metallic black one to Alex, leaving a black one dangling with a very sharp looking pendulum dangling from it.

    Having them hold it over the world map, he took the bucket of sand from Willow as she returned, taking the bottle he had set aside and poured it into the bucket, then after swirling it a few times started pouring it around them on the floor, which was luckily linoleum, slowly walking around them and the table making a circle.

    Carefully stepping over the line, he crouched down next to the table pulling out a card and setting down on the cords, and as it sat there, they all looked at it, seeing the word, seek, written on it.

    They all waited there for a moment, when the pendulum started swaying.  They all watched as it started pointing towards one of the corners, almost making it point sideways, so moving the map, he moved it till the pendulum, till it pointed straight down to the Hawaiian islands.

    Taking out a new map from his hat, Yuvraj set it down, while the pendulum started to move again, pointing in-between the two biggest islands.

    "Hey Vanessa, looked like we're heading back to the cabin."

   Before anyone could say anything to disrupt the silence, the sound of a notification rang through the air.  Pulling out his phone looked at it, then grabbing the TV remote, turned it on then started flipping through the channels till he landed on a news channel.

   "...That's right folks, the investigation for the missing girl known as Crystal has gone global, it appears that in following reports of a girl with her description, we've come to a additional two missing girls as well, both with similar resemblances to Crystal, same height and such, but the most extreme resemblance between the three of them would be their eyes.  In Comparing their pictures, investigators have found that their eyes are all practically the same, even the lines in their irises.

    "First we have her disappearing from her home town, but shortly after we discover that a girl by the name of Lotus has gone missing in a similar fashion as Crystal, everything in her possession had gone without a trace, and a note, but instead of a don't follow me note, this time it read 'I quit.

    "Then it gets even more interesting, when a from a wealthy family we've seen visiting England to see the queen on her birthday, during their stay in their hotel room, she widowed mother walks into  Alexandra's room to find it empty of all her belongings they had brought on the trip, with a lack of note this time.
