"Hey Connie... I'm pulling up to the Bed and Breakfast... Don't worry, I won't breakfast without you... Has Lion eaten anything..? I'm sure no one will mind if he has something to eat... I'll check in while I wait... Love you too."

Steven spotted a parking space near the entrance of the Bed and Breakfast. He was careful not to hit the cars on either side of him as they were not parked correctly. It was times like this that he was thankful his Supremo was compact.

As he removed his seat belt, Steven took a breath and rest his eyes for a moment. It had been a few hours since he left Beach City and he felt the weight of the world, no, he felt the weight of the universe begin to fade ever so slightly.

"Steven, these things take time...", he remembered his therapist saying. He was thankful Dr. Maheswaran had referred him to Dr. Galen. "I know you to be extremely empathetic Steven, but you must now care for yourself rather than care for others."

He clutched at the lower part of his shirt just above his gem tightly and took a deep breath before he hopped out his car. Steven shyly entered the lobby and rang the bell on the counter.

"Welcome to the Bed and Breakfast, my name is Diana, how can I help you today sir?" a young woman said kindly.

Steven cleared his throat, "Um... I wanted to check in."

"Could I have your name sir?"

"Oh of course, Steven Universe," he chuckled softly.

The woman typed away at her computer, "Alright, was that the one with a queen size bed?"He simply nodded. "Okay, that will be room 319. The elevators are on your right and that would be on the third floor. Here is your key Mr. Universe." Steven gave a small thank you as he took the key and walked back to the car to grab his suit case.

The small brass key twisted with ease and he turned the knob. Steven placed his suitcase on the wall beside the bed and lay down on the bed. He smiled to himself. "I'm free," he thought.

A swirling pink portal opened and Lion jumped out of it with Connie riding on his back.

"Hey Steven! How was the drive?", Connie asked as she jumped off of Lion. Lion pranced towards the edge of the bed and nuzzled Steven's hand with his heart shaped nose.

Steven stoked Lion's soft pink fur gently, "Other than the tire Garnet warned me about, it went fairly well. I noticed there's a pool here, maybe we could go swimming later."

"Yeah, that's a great idea. That reminds me, could you get my suitcase from Lion?", she said as she rolled onto the bed.

"You okay?"

"Yeah... It's just a bit early and I was up watching that horrible Camp Pining Hearts Spin Off you were telling me about. It's like so bad you have to keep watching. I'm surprised Peridot even watched it."

Steven chuckled as Connie readjusted her head on his abdomen after he reclaimed his spot, "We ended up getting Lapis to watch with us. I gave them the idea to introduce the show to Bismuth."

"Even if Bismuth doesn't like it, she'll watch it for their sake. She's into action versus romance..."

"The breakfast bar doesn't open for another hour, I think I'll rest until then, how 'bout you?", Steven said before sighing deeply.

"That doesn't, *yawn*, sound too bad...," she said softly.

Lion slowly and carefully crept onto the end of the bed, his big front paws crossed over their feet gently, and he started to purr rhythmically until they all fell asleep.
