Prologue

It all started back when I was a little girl. Back then my life was somewhat simple, up until I got into high school. That is when everything changed. Well to be honest it was my senior year of high school when it all changed. Sorry I guess I should tell you a little more about myself before I get to the good stuff.

My name is Riley Alexandria Reynolds. I have a lot of medical issues (I'll explain through out the book). I'm going to be a senior at Virgil High and I'm the biggest nerd ever. By nerd I mean I love video games, board games, movies, superheroes, Star Wars, Disney, music, and comic books. What all this means is that I am not popular at all. I get really good grades and have never been in trouble, never been to a party, and never had a boyfriend. Oh and I'm bisexual. I had a girlfriend once (I'll explain as the book continues). People make fun of me. My hair is a midnight blue with deep purple, turquoise, and silver streaks. Its about chin length with layers. I have green eyes. My best friend says they are like looking at emeralds. I wear a lot of nerd and band shirts with skinny jeans and black converse sneakers. I honestly don't care what people think of me. I have one friend. He is the best in the world. His name is Nikoli William Freeman. He is tall with blonde hair and dark blue eyes. We have so much in common. We love all the same things. I have known him basically my entire life. He lives with his dad, Steven, and his older brother, Aaron. Our families are very close. We do everything together. To be honest I have had a crush on him for a long time, but I don't think he knows but I'm pretty sure he likes me also. Everyone at the school thinks we are dating but we're not.

Over the summer we decided that we would go to all the dances together and join an afterschool activity. What nobody knows in this school is that Nikoli is really good at sports and I am really good at gymnastics. So Nik (that's what I call him, he calls me Ri) decided he was going to try out for football, and I was going to try out for cheerleading (good luck to us since everyone bullies us.) But we made a pact to do this cause its our senior year and we want to enjoy it. The only bad thing is, that if we do make our teams we have to put up with the 2 most popular kids in school. The football golden boy isn't so bad, in fact he is the hottest guy at the school. His name is Damion Weston. He is tall, tan, has brown hair, and the greenest eyes you have ever seen. He isn't a bully, he actually says hi to Nik and I. We have all our classes together and he sits beside me in all of them. Now the head cheerleader is another story. She is a world class witch (if you know what I mean.) She makes fun of me all the time. She is Damion's on again off again girlfriend. Her name is Vanessa Sommers. Of course she is the prettiest girl at school. She is tan with blonde hair and blue eyes. The weird thing is she used to be my best friend in elementary school up till the beginning of freshman year before she got all popular.

So like I said before, my life was some what simple until my senior year in high school when everything changed for Nikoli and I. Here's how it happened.
