Chapter 5

It's the day of the first football game and I'm in the locker room after school. I look in my locker and see my uniform along with a long sleeve shirt and some tights to wear under it. I hurry and get dressed before the others get in.

"Riley!!! You look so cute." Allison says as she come up to me with Brittany and Vanessa.

"Thanks. Sorry I don't exactly match you all."

"Its ok. We understand. It was actually Allison's idea to get the under clothes for you." Brittany says with a smile.

Vanessa scoffs and turns and walks away. "Thanks Allison. I really appreciate it." I lower my voice "Is Vanessa ok?"

Brittany and Allison look to each other then back at me. "Yeah. I think she is just jealous that you are getting so much attention." Brittany says.

"Oh... Well I didn't ask for it."

"We know. She will get over it. So are you ready for your big solo?" Allison asks.

"Yeah I'm pretty excited." I say with a smile. We head out of the locker room and start heading to the field.

"So who are you rooting for the most tonight?" Brittany asks.

"Nikoli. Its his first game ever under the lights so I want it to be special for him."

"Of course you are rooting for him." Allison says with a smile.

"What is that supposed to mean?"

" Its nothing just that, you guys are really close. We cant believe that you two aren't dating. He seems to like you as more than a friend. Plus I know for a fact that there are a couple of other guys trying to get your attention." Brittany says.

"What? Nikoli doesn't like me like that? Who else?"

"Oh come on Riley don't be naïve. I've seen the way Nikoli looks at you. And I've seen the way you look at him also. Plus I heard from a reliable source that Brent, Michael, and Damion like you also." Allison says with a big smile.

I start blushing. "I think your right about Nikoli, I having been picking up on small things. And I already knew that Damion did. I had a feeling about Michael and Brent."

"Well maybe you should ask Nikoli. But it seems to me that you have the pick of the litter for homecoming." Brittany says chuckling.

We get to the field and the football teams run out. "Woo!!! Go Nikoli!!!!!!!

He sees me and runs up to me with a huge smile on his face. "You cheering for me brat."

I give him a hug. "Of course I am. You're going to do great out there. Good luck."

"Thanks, I'll see you after the game?"

"Of course dork."

He runs back to the team on the side lines. Allison and Brittany come up to me.

"See I told you." Brittany says.

"You guys really think so?" I say with a smile. Just then I see my parents in the stands with Steven and Aaron. I wave to them, they smile and wave back.

A few minutes later the game has started. The first 2 quarters go by quickly. The next thing I know its half time and its time for our routine. We jog onto the field and get into formation. We do the cheer then its time for my solo. I step up and do my round off, then the back flip, I jump up and touch my toes, then I gracefully land and do the splits with my hands in the air.

"Yeah. Go Riley." Nik yells.

"That's our daughter!!!" I hear my parents yell.

I get up with a smile and run off the field with the rest of the squad. They all cheer for me . Soon the game starts back up. It's the last quarter of the game and we are behind by one touchdown. Nik calls the play passes it to Damion and Damion runs into the end zone for a touchdown.
